Collapsible stand for a firepit

Abstract

A stand for a firepit includes a number of uprights spaced apart to receive a firepit, a horizontal support fixedly attached to the uprights and configured to be adjacent to the firepit when the fire pit is received between the uprights, a number of leg uprights extending from the uprights, a number of cross members extending from the leg uprights and toward a central hub, and a number of legs selectively connectable to the leg uprights.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A firepit system, comprising:
 a firepit having an outer wall and a bottom;   a stand configured to support the firepit at a first higher elevation in a first configuration and configured to support the firepit at a second lower elevation in a second configuration; and   a foldable storage container configured to contain both the firepit and the firepit stand while the stand supports the firepit at the second lower elevation in the second configuration.   
     
     
         2 . The firepit system of  claim 1 , wherein the first configuration is a use configuration and the second configuration is a storage configuration. 
     
     
         3 . The firepit system of  claim 2 , wherein the stand is configured to support the firepit at third elevation higher than the first elevation and the second elevation, the third elevation corresponding to a standing configuration. 
     
     
         4 . The firepit system of  claim 3 , wherein the stand includes legs movable between a storage configuration and an upright configuration, the legs being horizontal in the storage configuration and in the upright configuration when the stand is supporting the fire pit in the standing configuration. 
     
     
         5 . The firepit system of  claim 4 , comprising a flexible tether attaching the legs to the stand. 
     
     
         6 . The firepit system of  claim 1 , wherein the stand further comprises a folding shelf foldable between a use position and a storage position. 
     
     
         7 . The firepit system of  claim 6 , wherein the container is configured to contain the folding shelf when the folding shelf is in the storage position. 
     
     
         8 . The firepit system of  claim 7 , wherein the folding shelf is lockable in the use position, and hangable in the storage position. 
     
     
         9 . The firepit system of  claim 1 , wherein the foldable storage container comprises a rectangular box with a tie-down. 
     
     
         10 . The firepit system of  claim 1 , wherein the foldable storage container comprises a base box formed of sidewalls shorter than the height of the fire pit and stand in the second configuration. 
     
     
         11 . A firepit system, comprising:
 a firepit having an outer wall and a bottom;   a stand configured to support the firepit, the stand comprising:   a plurality of uprights spaced apart to receive the firepit therebetween;
 a plurality of supports attached to the plurality of uprights, wherein each support of the plurality of supports is adjustable between a support configuration and stow configuration, 
 wherein in the support configuration, the supports are in contact with the bottom of the firepit and the firepit is at a higher elevation, 
 wherein in the stow configuration, the supports are adjacent to the outer wall of the firepit and the firepit is at a lower elevation. 
   
     
     
         12 . The firepit system of  claim 11 , further comprising a container configured to contain the firepit and the stand when the firepit is at the lower elevation. 
     
     
         13 . The firepit system of  claim 12 , wherein the container comprises a folding box comprising sidewalls and a top cover. 
     
     
         14 . The firepit system of  claim 11 , wherein the stand further comprises at least one curved panel attached to the plurality of uprights. 
     
     
         15 . The firepit system of  claim 11 , wherein the stand further comprises at least one folding shelf attached to an upright of the plurality of uprights. 
     
     
         16 . The firepit system of  claim 15 , wherein the at least one folding shelf includes at least one utensil hangar. 
     
     
         17 . The firepit system of  claim 15 , wherein the at least one folding shelf is lockable in a horizontal orientation in a use condition, and hangable in a vertical orientation in a storage condition. 
     
     
         18 . The firepit system of  claim 11 , wherein a top portion of the plurality of uprights is configured to be adjacent to the outer wall of the firepit in a use condition, and to be at least partially above the outer wall of the firepit in a storage condition. 
     
     
         19 . The firepit system of  claim 11 , wherein the stand comprises legs, and wherein each upright of the plurality of uprights includes a hollow portion configured to receive a nesting feature of the legs. 
     
     
         20 . The firepit system of  claim 11 , wherein the stand comprises at least three legs configured to fold under at least three cross pieces when the stand in a storage configuration. 
     
     
         21 . The firepit system of  claim 20 , wherein each cross piece of the at least three cross pieces includes a cross member foot configured to, in the storage condition, retain a nesting feature of a leg of the at least three legs.
