Turbine brush clip for swimming pool cleaners

Abstract

A pool cleaner may include one or more turbines. One or more brush clip may be attachable to the one or more turbines and detachable from the one or more turbines. In some cases, the one or more turbines may be domed turbines. The brush clip may be installed and removed without requiring disassembly of the pool cleaner, and in some cases, the installation and removal may be toolless.

That which is claimed: 
     
         1 . A brush clip for a domed turbine of a pool cleaner, the brush clip comprising a first end configured to be proximate to a center of the domed turbine and a second end configured to be distal from the center of the domed turbine, wherein a height of the brush clip at the first end is greater than a height of the brush clip at the second end. 
     
     
         2 . The brush clip of  claim 1 , wherein the brush clip comprises a rigid substrate and a flexible overmold, wherein the flexible overmold overlaps a leading edge of the rigid substrate in a direction of rotation of the brush clip. 
     
     
         3 . The brush clip of  claim 1 , wherein an upper surface of the brush clip is sloped upwards from a leading edge to a trailing edge of the brush clip, the leading edge and the trailing edge each extending between the first end and the second end. 
     
     
         4 . The brush clip of  claim 1 , further comprising at least one scrubber extending from an upper surface of the brush clip. 
     
     
         5 . The brush clip of  claim 4 , wherein the at least one scrubber comprises at least one visual indicator. 
     
     
         6 . The brush clip of  claim 1 , wherein the brush clip comprises a retention feature for retaining the brush clip on the domed turbine and an orientation feature configured to engage a keyhole of the domed turbine. 
     
     
         7 . A pool cleaner assembly comprising:
 a domed turbine; and   a brush clip attachable to and detachable from the domed turbine, the brush clip comprising a clip body and a scrubber extending from the clip body.   
     
     
         8 . The pool cleaner assembly of  claim 7 , wherein the brush clip comprises a first end configured to be proximate to a center of the domed turbine and a second end configured to be distal from the center of the domed turbine, wherein a height of the brush clip at the first end is greater than a height of the brush clip at the second end. 
     
     
         9 . The pool cleaner assembly of  claim 7 , wherein the domed turbine comprises at least one vane, wherein the at least one vane comprises a keyhole for engaging the brush clip. 
     
     
         10 . The pool cleaner assembly of  claim 7 , wherein the brush clip comprises a leading edge and a perimeter edge, wherein the leading edge of the brush clip is configured to wrap around a leading edge of a vane of the domed turbine, and wherein the perimeter edge of the brush clip is configured to wrap around a perimeter edge of the vane of the domed turbine. 
     
     
         11 . The pool cleaner assembly of  claim 7 , wherein the brush clip comprises a rigid substrate and a flexible overmold, wherein the flexible overmold overlaps a leading edge of the rigid substrate. 
     
     
         12 . The pool cleaner assembly of  claim 7 , wherein the brush clip comprises a first end configured to be proximate to a center of the domed turbine, a second end configured to be distal from the center of the domed turbine, and a leading edge extending between the first end and the second end, wherein the brush clip comprises a rigid substrate and a flexible overmold, wherein the flexible overmold overlaps the rigid substrate at the leading edge. 
     
     
         13 . The brush clip of  claim 12 , wherein a height of the brush clip at the first end is greater than a height of the brush clip at the second end. 
     
     
         14 . The brush clip of  claim 12 , further comprising at least one scrubber extending from an upper surface of the brush clip. 
     
     
         15 . The brush clip of  claim 14 , wherein the at least one scrubber comprises at least one visual indicator. 
     
     
         16 . A brush clip for a pool cleaner turbine, the brush clip comprising:
 a clip body;   at least one scrubber extending from the clip body;   an orientation feature configured to (a) engage a keyhole of the turbine and (b) defining an axis of the brush about which the brush clip is configured to rotate; and   a retention feature configured to selectively engage an engagement feature within the keyhole of the turbine based on rotation of the brush clip about the axis.   
     
     
         17 . The brush clip of  claim 16 , wherein a clip body of the brush clip comprises a clockwise curvature. 
     
     
         18 . The brush clip of  claim 16 , wherein the brush clip comprises a first end configured to be proximate to a center of the pool cleaner turbine and a second end configured to be distal from the center of the pool cleaner turbine, wherein a height of the brush clip at the first end is greater than a height of the brush clip at the second end. 
     
     
         19 . The brush clip of  claim 15 , wherein the brush clip comprises a leading edge and a perimeter edge, wherein the leading edge of the brush clip is configured to wrap around a leading edge of a vane of the pool cleaner turbine, and wherein the perimeter edge of the brush clip is configured to wrap around a perimeter edge of the vane of the pool cleaner turbine. 
     
     
         20 . The brush clip of  claim 15 , wherein the brush clip comprises a rigid substrate and a flexible overmold, wherein the flexible overmold overlaps a leading edge of the rigid substrate.
