Abstract

An elevated tank tower includes a foundation, and a support structure including a plurality of stacked segments. One or more of the plurality segment is unitarily constructed from precast concrete configured to extend around the entirety of an outer perimeter of the support structure. Each of the stacked segments is connected to an adjacent segment with one or more spanning plates connected to the adjacent segments. A superstructure is positioned atop of the support structure and operably connected to an uppermost segment of the plurality of segments. A containment tank is positioned atop the superstructure.

1 . An elevated tank tower comprising:
 a foundation; and   a support structure including a stack of a plurality of substantially identical segments,
 each of the plurality of substantially identical segments being unitarily constructed from precast concrete configured to extend around the entirety of an outer perimeter of the support structure, and 
 each of the substantially identical segments connected to an adjacent one of the plurality of substantially identical segments with one or more spanning plates connected to the adjacent segments. 
   
     
     
         2 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 1 , wherein the support structure is substantially cylindrical. 
     
     
         3 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 1 , wherein a lowermost segment of the plurality of substantially identical segments is connected to the foundation with one or more angle plates bolted to the lowermost segment and the foundation. 
     
     
         4 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 1 , wherein a lowermost segment of the plurality of substantially identical segments is connected to the foundation with one or more mounting plates embedded in the lowermost segment and one or more anchor chairs each welded to one of the one or more mounting plates, each of the one or more anchor chairs bolted to the foundation. 
     
     
         5 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 1 , wherein the support structure includes a lowermost segment, and an uppermost segment, with the plurality of substantially identical segments extending between the lowermost segment and the uppermost segment. 
     
     
         6 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 1 , wherein the spanning plates are connected to the adjacent segments with bolt anchors installed after the segment is stacked on top of the adjacent segment. 
     
     
         7 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 1 , wherein the spanning plates are connected to the adjacent segments by welding the spanning plate to a mounting plate installed when the segments are cast. 
     
     
         8 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 1 , further comprising vertical tie-rods connecting at least two adjacent segments of the support structure. 
     
     
         9 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 1 , further comprising horizontal members spanning across an internal space of the support structure and connecting different points of an internal surface of the support structure. 
     
     
         10 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 1 , further comprising a superstructure positioned atop of the support structure and operably connected to an uppermost segment of the plurality of substantially identical segments. 
     
     
         11 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 10 , further comprising a containment tank positioned atop the superstructure, wherein the containment tank has a capacity of about 60,000 gallons to about 300,000 gallons. 
     
     
         12 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 11 , wherein each of the plurality of substantially identical segments has the same diameter such that the support structure is substantially cylindrical,
 wherein the diameter of each of the plurality of substantially identical segments is about 12 feet to about 16 feet, and   wherein a height of each of the plurality of substantially identical segment is between about 6 feet and about 8 feet.   
     
     
         13 . An elevated tank tower comprising:
 a foundation;   a support structure operably connected to the foundation, the support structure including a stack of a plurality of substantially identical segments, each of the plurality of substantially identical segments unitarily constructed from precast concrete configured to extend around the entirety of an outer perimeter of the support structure;   a superstructure positioned atop of the support structure and operably connected to an uppermost segment of the plurality of substantially identical segments; and   a containment tank positioned atop the superstructure,   wherein each of the substantially identical segments is connected to an adjacent one of the plurality of substantially identical segment with one or more spanning plates connected to the adjacent segment.   
     
     
         14 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 13 , wherein the containment tank is a welded carbon tank, a stainless steel tank, a bolted galvanized tank, or a glass fused tank. 
     
     
         15 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 13 , wherein the containment tank has a capacity of about 60,000 gallons to about 300,000 gallons. 
     
     
         16 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 13 , wherein each of the plurality of substantially identical segments has the same diameter such that the support structure is substantially cylindrical,
 wherein the diameter of each of the plurality of substantially identical segments is about 12 feet to about 16 feet, and   wherein a height of each of the plurality of substantially identical segments is between about 6 feet and about 8 feet.

         21 . An elevated tank tower comprising:
 a foundation; and   a support structure including a stack of a plurality of substantially identical segments,

 each of the substantially identical segments connected to an adjacent one of the plurality of substantially identical segments with one or more spanning plates connected to the adjacent segments; 
   wherein a lowermost segment of the plurality of substantially identical segments is connected to the foundation.   
     
     
         22 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 21 , further comprising a concrete encasement connecting the lowermost segment to the foundation, the concrete encasement including concrete surrounding rebar protruding from the lowermost segment and rebar protruding from the foundation. 
     
     
         23 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 21 , wherein the lowermost segment of the plurality of substantially identical segments is connected to the foundation with one or more angle plates bolted to the lowermost segment and the foundation. 
     
     
         24 . The elevated tank tower of  claim 21 , wherein the lowermost segment of the plurality of substantially identical segments is connected to the foundation with one or more anchor chairs connected to the lowermost segment, each of the one or more anchor chairs bolted to the foundation.
