Abstract
A helmet is provided which includes a helmet shell defining a cavity. The helmet shell has left and right helmet mounting sections defined on left and right sides thereof, and the helmet includes a visor mounting system comprising a primary visor connector made of a single piece and adapted for connection with the left and right helmet mounting sections. The helmet further has a primary visor removably and pivotally connected to the primary visor connector and adapted to pivot about a primary pivot axis.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of pivotally connecting a visor to a helmet shell provided with a pair of helmet mounting sections, comprising:
removably connecting a visor connector made of a single piece to a first one of the pair of helmet mounting sections; removably connecting another visor connector made of a single piece to a second one of the pair of helmet mounting sections; and pivotally connecting opposite ends of the visor to respective visor connectors.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the visor connectors are identical and interchangeable between the pair of helmet mounting sections.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein removably connecting the visor connector to the helmet mounting section is completed by hand.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein pivotally connecting opposite ends of the visor to respective visor connectors is completed by hand.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein removably connecting the visor connector to the helmet mounting section comprises clipping the visor connector to the helmet shell.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein clipping the visor connector to the helmet shell comprises clipping or snap-fitting the visor connector made of a single piece directly to a surface of the helmet shell.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein clipping the visor connector to the helmet shell comprises clipping or snap-fitting the visor connector made of a single piece to an outer surface of the helmet shell.
8 . The method of claim 6 , wherein clipping the visor connector to the helmet shell comprises clipping or snap-fitting the visor connector to a recessed section on an outer surface of the helmet shell.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein pivotally connecting opposite ends of the visor to respective visor connectors comprises clipping each end of the visor onto an outer-facing structure of respective visor connectors.
10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising pivotally connecting opposite ends of a secondary visor to respective visor connectors.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein pivotally connecting opposite ends of the secondary visor to respective visor connectors comprises clipping each end of the secondary visor onto an inner-facing structure of respective visor connectors.
12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein pivotally connecting opposite ends of the secondary visor to respective visor connectors comprises pivotally connecting each end of the secondary visor to respective visor connectors opposite corresponding ends of the visor pivotally connected to respective visor connectors.
13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein removably connecting the visor connector to the helmet mounting section comprises connecting the visor connector to the helmet shell to have a first pivot accessible from outside the helmet shell and to have a second pivot accessible from within the helmet shell.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein pivotally connecting opposite ends of the visor to respective visor connectors comprises pivotally connecting each end of the visor to respective first pivots for pivoting about a first pivot axis.
15 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising pivotally connecting opposite ends of a secondary visor to respective second pivots for pivoting about a second pivot axis.
16 . A method of pivotally connecting a visor to a helmet shell provided with a left-side helmet mounting section and a right-side helmet mounting section, comprising:
connecting a pair of identical visor connectors each made of a single piece to any one of the left-side helmet mounting section and the right-side helmet mounting section; and pivotally connecting opposite ends of the visor to respective visor connectors.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the pair of identical visor connectors are interchangeable between the left-side helmet mounting section and the right-side helmet mounting section.
18 . The method of claim 16 , wherein connecting the pair of identical visor connectors to any one of the left-side helmet mounting section and the right-side helmet mounting section is completed by hand.
19 . The method of claim 16 , wherein pivotally connecting opposite ends of the visor to respective visor connectors is completed by hand.
20 . The method of claim 16 , wherein connecting the pair of identical visor connectors to any one of the left-side helmet mounting section and the right-side helmet mounting section comprises connecting a structural component of the pair of identical visor connectors directly to a surface of the helmet shell.Cited by (0)
