         7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more arms of the exercise device are rotated to the first position by the user of the exercise device.

         8 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
 querying the user at the display of the exercise device on whether to perform the calibration of the one or more arms in response to determining that the first position of the one or more arms does not correspond to the second position, wherein performing the calibration of the one or more arms based at least in part on:
 receiving second user input in response to querying the user on whether to perform the calibration, the second user input indicating to perform the calibration;
 determining that a second amount of time has passed since querying the user on whether to perform the calibration; or
 determining that a third amount of time has passed since a last calibration was performed on the exercise device.

         9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
 querying a memory of the exercise device to determine whether the third amount of time has passed since the last calibration was performed.

         10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the exercise device comprises one or more pull cables extending from the one or more arms and a resistance mechanism configured to resist movement of the one or more pull cables, further comprising:
 applying, by the resistance mechanism and after performing the calibration of the one or more arms, a first resistance to the one or more pull cables based at least in part on a second resistance causing a moment force on the exercise device during an exercise.

         11 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
 calculating the moment force based on the second resistance, a direction of a force applied to the exercise device by the one or more pull cables during the exercise, and a second position of the one or more arms associated with the exercise, wherein the first resistance is applied based on the calculated moment force.

         12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the first resistance is less than the second resistance based at least in part on the calculated moment force being sufficient to cause the exercise device to tilt.

         13 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
 outputting one or more alerts based at least in part on the calculated moment force being sufficient to cause the exercise device to tilt, the one or more alerts comprising an audible alarm, flashing lights, a message on the display, a vibration applied to the one or more pull cables, or any combination thereof.

         14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the first resistance is the same as the second resistance associated with the exercise based at least in part on the calculated moment force being insufficient to cause the exercise device to tilt.

         15 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:
 rotating the one or more arms to a third position to reduce the moment force based at least in part on determining that the moment force is sufficient to cause the exercise device to tilt.

         16 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the exercise device comprises a strain gauge, an accelerometer, or both configured to measure a tilt of the exercise device, and wherein the second resistance is applied based at least in part on one or more measurements by the strain gauge, the accelerometer, or both.
