Abstract

The portable transferable grip overlay is a grip that increases the size of a standard golf club grip or any underlying grip or structure. The portable transferable grip overlay seeks to provide users with a device that wraps around an underlying grip or structure easily, making it easy to transfer to other underlying structures or grips. In order to accomplish this the portable transferable grip overlay is a grip body that flexes and wraps around the underlying grip or structure. The grip body is formed by an outer grip layer and an inner layer which cover a structural layer that provides rigidity to the grip body.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A portable transferable grip overlay comprising:
 a grip body; the grip body attaches to an underlying structure while in a closed configuration; the grip body increases the circumference of the underlying structure; the grip body provides an ergonomic surface for a user to grip; the grip body detaches from an underlying structure while in an open configuration; the grip body comprises an outer grip layer, a structural layer, an inner layer, a first end, a second end, a top portion and a bottom portion; the outer grip layer is a rubber material; the inner layer is a rubber material that contacts the underlying structure; and the structural layer is encompassed and positioned between the outer grip layer and the inner layer.

         2 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
 the outer grip layer comprises an outer grip circumference; and
 the outer grip circumference encompasses a portion of the circumference of the underlying structure.

         3 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 2 comprising:
 the outer grip layer comprises a plurality of outer grip grooves;
 the plurality of outer grip grooves is integrated along the surface of the outer grip layer; and
 the plurality of outer grip grooves traverses along the length and or circumference of the outer grip layer.

         4 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 2 wherein the outer grip circumference encompasses at least 60% of the circumference of the underlying structure.

         5 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 2 comprising:
 the top portion comprises a flared ridge; and
 the bottom portion comprises a tapered ridge.

         6 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 5 comprising:
 the flared ridge gradually increases the outer grip circumference towards the top of the outer grip layer; and
 the tapered ridge gradually decreases the outer grip circumference towards the bottom of the outer grip layer.

         7 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
 the structural layer is a flexible hard plastic material;
 the structural layer holds the grip body in a closed configuration when no external force is applied to the grip body; and
 the structural layer enables the grip body to bend into an open configuration when an external force is applied.

         8 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
 the inner layer bends in tandem with the structural layer and outer grip layer;
 the inner layer creates a frictional force between the inner layer and the underlying structure; and
 the frictional force holds the grip body in place along the underlying structure while in a closed configuration.

         9 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 1 wherein the grip body may be transferred between underlying structures.

         10 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 1 wherein the grip body may increase the circumference of the underlying structure by up to 200%.

         11 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 1 comprising:
 the first end comprises a top clasp and a bottom clasp;
 the second end comprises a top clasp receiver, a bottom clasp receiver, and a button;
 the top clasp receiver further comprises a receiving cavity;
 the bottom clasp receiver further comprises a receiving cavity;
 the button further comprises an arm and a plurality of hinges;
 the top clasp aligns and engages with the top clasp receiver; and
 the bottom clasp aligns and engages with the bottom clasp receiver.

         12 . A portable transferable grip overlay comprising:
 a grip body; the grip body attaches to an underlying structure while in a closed configuration; the grip body increases the circumference of the underlying structure; the grip body provides an ergonomic surface for a user to grip; the grip body detaches from an underlying structure while in an open configuration; the grip body comprises an outer grip layer, a structural layer, an inner layer, a first end, a second end, a top portion and a bottom portion; the outer grip layer is a rubber material; the inner layer is a rubber material that contacts the underlying structure; the structural layer is encompassed and positioned between the outer grip layer and the inner layer; the outer grip layer comprises an outer grip circumference; the grip body may be transferred between underlying structures; and the structural layer is a flexible hard plastic material.

         13 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 12 wherein the outer grip circumference encompasses a portion of the circumference of the underlying structure.

         14 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 13 comprising:
 the outer grip layer comprises a plurality of outer grip grooves;
 the plurality of outer grip grooves is integrated along the surface of the outer grip layer; and
 the plurality of outer grip grooves traverses along the length and or circumference of the outer grip layer.

         15 . The portable transferable grip overlay as claimed in claim 13 wherein the outer grip circumference encompasses at least 60% of the circumference of the underlying structure.
