Abstract
A traffic director includes a distal end and a proximal end, two or more sides extending upward from the proximal end at an angle toward the distal end, a proximal notch disposed near the proximal end between two adjacent sides, and the proximal notch forms a first flexion point of the traffic director. The traffic director can further include one or more recessed channels formed in at least one of the two or more sides. The one or more recessed channels forms a second flexion point of the traffic director. The traffic director can further include a removable indicator sleeve having an advertisement or directional indicator printed thereon.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A traffic director, comprising:
a base comprising a lower surface, an upper surface, a plurality of sides, and an opening through the base that extends from the lower surface to the upper surface and between the plurality of opposing sides; and two or more sides extending upwardly from the plurality of opposing sides of the base, the two or more sides being angled such that upper ends thereof are closer to one another than lower ends thereof, at least one of the two or more sides being taller than another of the two or more sides.
2 . The traffic director of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the two or more sides comprises an aperture therethrough, the aperture being large enough to enable a user's hand to fit therein such that the upper end of the at least one side forms a handle.
3 . The traffic director of claim 1 , further comprising a directional indicator disposed or disposable on at least one of the two or more sides.
4 . The traffic director of claim 1 , further comprising a removable indicator sleeve configured to be removably secured to at least one of the two or more sides of the traffic director.
5 . The traffic director of claim 4 , wherein the removable indicator sleeve has an advertisement or directional indicator printed or otherwise disposed on an outside surface thereof.
6 . The traffic director of claim 4 , wherein the removable indicator sleeve comprises a receptacle that is configured to receive the at least one of the two or more sides therein.
7 . The traffic director of claim 6 , wherein the removable indicator sleeve further comprises an attachment mechanism connected to the receptacle.
8 . The traffic director of claim 7 , wherein the attachment mechanism comprises a hook and loop fastener, one or more button snaps, or one or more magnets that are configured to be secured to the base of the traffic director.
9 . The traffic director of claim 1 , wherein each of the two or more sides tapers from a first dimension at the lower end to a second dimension at the upper end, the second dimension being smaller than the first dimension.
10 . The traffic director of claim 1 , wherein the two or more sides comprise two opposing sides.
11 . The traffic director of claim 1 , wherein the two or more sides comprise four sides.
12 . A system of traffic directors, comprising:
a first traffic director and a second traffic director, each of the first and second traffic directors comprising a base with at least one slot extending therethrough, at least two sides extending upward from the base, and a removable indicator sleeve securable over one of the sides, wherein the first traffic director is configured to be nestingly stacked with the second traffic director by inserting the sides of the first traffic director through the at least one slot of the base of the second traffic director and while the removable indicator sleeves are secured over to the sides.
13 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the first traffic director is rotated approximately 90 degrees relative to the second traffic director during the nested stacking.
14 . The system of claim 12 , wherein each removable indicator sleeve is dimensioned so as not to substantially alter an outer shape or size of the corresponding traffic director, thereby not interfering with the nesting of the traffic directors.
15 . The system of claim 12 , wherein each of the first and second traffic directors further comprises a permanent directional indicator on one of its sides, and the removable indicator sleeve provides a different directional indicator or advertisement when installed on the side.
16 . The system of claim 12 , wherein the removable indicator sleeve of the first traffic director displays indicia that are different from indicia displayed on the removable indicator sleeve of the second traffic director.
17 . A system of traffic directors, comprising:
first and second traffic directors, each of the first and second traffic directors comprising:
a base comprising a lower surface, an upper surface, a first set of opposing sides, a second set of opposing sides, a first slot extending through the base, and a second slot extending through the base; and
two or more sides extending upwardly from the base, the two or more sides being angled such that upper ends thereof are closer to one another than lower ends thereof, at least one of the two or more sides being taller than another of the two or more sides, and at least one of the two or more sides having an aperture therethrough forming a handle therein,
wherein the first traffic director is configured to be nestingly stacked with the second traffic director by inserting the sides of the first traffic director through the slots through the base of the second traffic director.
18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the first traffic director is rotated approximately 90 degrees relative to the second traffic director during the nested stacking.
19 . The system of claim 17 , wherein at least one of the traffic directors comprises a removable indicator sleeve that is selectively securable to at least one of the sides.
20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the removable indicator sleeve is dimensioned so as not to substantially alter an outer shape or size of the traffic director, thereby not interfering with the nesting of the traffic directors.Cited by (0)
