Abstract
Side chain modification of 24-hydroxyimino-14a-aza-D-homo-cholesta-8(9), 14(14a)-dienes provides novel azasteroids having antifungal activities.

1. The compound of the formula ##SPC3## wherein: R 1 and R 2 are both hydrogen or both methyl: R 3 is hydrogen or C 1 -C 4 alkanoyl; X is halogen, NR 4 R 5 , or OR 6 , wherein R 4 and R 5 independently are hydrogen or C 1 -C 4 alkyl; R 6 is hydrogen, C 1 -C 4 alkyl, or an alkali metal cation; and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
2. The compound of claim 1 wherein R 1 and R 2 are both hydrogen.
3. The compound of claim 2 wherein R 3 is hydrogen.
4. The compound of claim 3 wherein X is NR 4 R 5 .
5. The compound of claim 4 wherein R 4 is hydrogen.
6. The compound of claim 5 wherein R 5 is isopropyl.
7. The compound of claim 3 wherein X is OR 6 .
8. The compound of claim 7 wherein R 6 is hydrogen.
9. The compound of claim 7 wherein R 6 is methyl.
