Abstract
A method for producng N-monosubstituted-2,3- and 3,4-pyridinedicarboxamides and 2,3-pyrazinedicarboxamides, which is accomplished by reacting corresponding imide precursors with ammonia or primary or secondary amines in the presence of a suitable solvent such as anhydrous alcohols, ethers, dimethylformamide and the like.

1. A compound of the formula ##SPC7## wherein each of T, Y and Z is nitrogen or CH and at least one is CH and at least one is nitrogen, and wherein when Y is nitrogen, T and Z are CH; and wherein one of R and R' is hydrogen and the other is a branched chain alkyl group having from 3 to 8 carbon atoms.
2. The (b) compound of claim 1 wherein R and R' are hydrogen.
3. The compound of claim 2 wherein T and Y are CH, Z is nitrogen, and the alkyl group is isopropyl or sec-butyl.Cited by (0)
