Abstract

This invention relates to compounds which are valuable as a fluorescent brightener and a novel process for producing the same.

We claim: 
     
       1. A compound of the formula, ##SPC30## wherein R 1  and R 1  ' may be the same or different, representing a substituent selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, chlorine, lower alkyl, methoxy and ethoxy, and R 2  and R 2  ' may be the same or different, representing a substituent selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, chlorine and lower alkyl.   
     
     
       2. The compound according to claim 1 having the formula, ##SPC31##
