Abstract

New 4-halo derivatives of pyrazolo[1,5-a]quinoxaline-3-carboxylic acid, esters and their salts have the formula ##STR1## R 1 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or a salt forming ion; R 2 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, halogen or lower alkoxy; and X is halogen. The new compounds are useful as intermediates and as anti-inflammatory agents.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. A compound of the formula ##STR36## wherein R 1 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, alkali metal or alkaline earth metal; R 2 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, halogen or lower alkoxy; and X is halogen.

       2. A compound as in claim 1 wherein R 1 is lower alkyl; R 2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; and X is chlorine or bromine.

       3. A compound as in claim 1 wherein R 1 is ethyl; R 2 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl; and X is chlorine.

       4. A compound as in claim 1 wherein X is chlorine.

       5. A compound as in claim 1 wherein R 2 is hydrogen.

       6. A compound as in claim 1 wherein R 2 is hydrogen and X is chlorine.

       7. A compound as in claim 1 wherein R 1 is ethyl, R 2 is hydrogen and X is chlorine.
