Abstract

The subject matter are triazolyl-stilbenes of the formula ##STR1## wherein R 1 represents an optionally substituted styryl, biphenylyl or naphthyl radical, R 2 represents hydrogen, halogen, or an alkyl or phenyl radical and R 3 represents nitrile, carboxyl or carboxylic acid ester, as well as their preparation and their use as optical brighteners.

       1. A triazolyl-stilbene of the formula ##STR36## wherein R 2  is H or Cl, R 3  is p--CN, o--CN, p--COOCH 3  or p--COOC 2  H 5 , and   X is H, Cl, COOCH 3  or COOC 2  H 5 .
