Abstract
It contains antigens coming from original strains of E.coli (Y + ,31A + and 47A + ) and the known K99 antigen. Application to the vaccination of cows before giving birth for the protection of newborn calves against diarrhea.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1. A biologically pure culture of a strain of E. coli having the F(31A) surface antigen recognizable by seroagglutination with a specific antiserum of said antigen, prepared from the standard strain (collection n°I-105 at the Institute Pasteur), said antiserum not recognizing the K99 antigen (reference strain B41), or the Y antigen (collection n°I-104), or the 47A antigen (collection n°I-106), said culture when inactivated yielding a vaccine effective in treating diarrhea in newborn animals.
2. A biologically pure culture of a strain of E. coli having the F(Y) surface antigen recognizable by seroagglutination with a specific antiserum of said antigen, prepared from the standard strain (collection n°I-104) said antiserum not recognizing the K99 antigen (reference strain B41) or the 31A antigen (collection n°I-105) or the 47A antigen (collection n°I-106), said culture when inactivated yielding a vaccine effective in treating diarrhea in newborn animals.
3. A biologically pure culture of a strain of E. coli having the F(47A) surface antigen recognizable by seroagglutination with a specific antiserum of said antigen, prepared from the standard strain (collection n°I-106), said antiserum not recognizing the K99 antigen (reference strain B41), or the 31A antigen (collection n°I-105) or the Y antigen (collection n°I-104), said culture when inactivated yielding a vaccine effective in treating diarrhea in newborn animals.Cited by (0)
