Abstract

Described herein are blends comprising a polyarylate and a poly(ester carbonate). These blends have improved light transmission, lower haze, and good mechanical properties.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A blend consisting essentially of from about 30 to about 70 weight percent of a polyarylate prepared from bisphenol-A and a mixture of terephthalic and isophthalic acids and from about 70 to about 30 weight percent of a random poly(ester carbonate) of the following formula: ##STR6## wherein a is from about 0.1 to about 0.9 and b is from about 0.9 to about 0.1. 
     
     
       2. A blend as defined in claim 1 wherein a and b are 0.5.
