Abstract
Pesticidal 5-ethynyl substituted thizoles, compositions thereof and use thereof as insecticides and miticides are disclosed and exemplified.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1. A photoactive acaricidal ethynylthiazole of the formula ##STR2## in which: R 1 is naphthyl; phenyl; phenyl substituted with at least one substituent selected from lower alkyl, halogen, lower alkoxy, lower haloalkoxy, lower alkylthio, lower haloalkylthio, phenylthio, nitro, cyano, lower alkylcarbonyl, lower haloalkylcarbonyl, lower alkoxycarbonyl, phenoxycarbonyl in which the phenyl ring may be substituted with lower alkyl or halogen, a group of the formula --C(X)N R 4R 5 in which R 4 and R 5 are independently hydrogen, lower alkyl or phenyl and X is oxygen or sulfur, a group of the formula --P(O)(OR 6 ) 2 in which R 6 is lower alkyl, and a group of the formula --OCF 2 O-- bridging adjacent atoms of the phenyl ring; thienyl; or thienyl substituted with at least one substituent selected from halogen, lower haloalkyl, lower alkylthio, lower haloalkylthio, phenylthio, lower alkylcarbonyl, lower haloalkylcarbonyl, lower alkoxycarbonyl, phenoxycarbonyl in which the phenyl ring may be substituted with lower alkyl or halogen, a group of the formula --C(X)NR 4 R 5 in which R 4 or R 5 and X are as defined above, and a group of the formula --P(O)(OR 6 ) in which R 6 is lower alkyl; R 2 is naphthyl; phenyl; or phenyl substituted with at least one substituent selected from lower alkyl, halogen, lower haloalkyl, --OCF 2 O-- bridging adjacent carbon atoms of the phenyl ring, lower alkoxy, lower haloalkoxy, lower alkylthio, lower haloalkylthio, phenylthio, nitro, cyano, lower alkylcarbonyl, lower haloalkylcarbonyl, lower alkoxycarbonylcarbonyl, phenoxycarbonyl in which the phenyl ring may be substituted with lower alkyl or halogen, a group of the formula --C(X)NR 4 R 5 in which R 4 and R 5 and X are as defined above, and a group of the formula --P(O)(OR 6 ) 2 in which R 6 is lower alkyl; and R 3 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, phenyl, or methylphenyl.
2. An acaricidal composition comprising an acaricidal amount of the compound of claim 1 in admixture with an agriculturally acceptable carrier.
3. A method for controlling acarids or insects which comprises applying to a locus where control is desired an acaricidally or insecticidally effective amount of the compound of claim 1, said locus being exposed to visible light.Cited by (0)
