Abstract

A compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R 1 is a C 1 -C 6 alkyl group, a C 3 -C 7 alkenyl group, a C 3 -C 7 alkynyl group, a halo(C 1 -C 5 )alkyl group, a halo(C 3 -C 4 ) alkenyl group, a halo(C 3 -C 4 )alkynyl group, a C 1 -C 4 alkoxy(C 1 -C 2 )alkyl group, a C 1 -C 2 alkylthio(C 1 -C 2 )alkyl group and R 2 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, which is useful as a herbicide.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A compound of the formula: ##STR15## wherein R 2  is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and R 4  is a hydrogen atom, a C 1  -C 6  alkyl group, a C 3  -C 7  alkenyl group, a C 3  -C 7  alkynyl group, a halo(C 1  -C 5 )alkyl group, a halo(C 3  -C 4 )alkenyl group, a halo (C 3  -C 4 )alkynyl group, a C 1  -C 4  alkoxy(C 1  -C 2 )alkyl group or a C 1  -C 2  alkylthio(C 1  -C 2 )alkyl group. 
     
     
       2. The compound according to claim 1, wherein R 2  is a hydrogen atom. 
     
     
       3. The compound according to claim 1, wherein R 4  is a hydrogen atom, a C 3  -C 4  alkenyl group, a C 3  -C 4  alkynyl group, a halo(C 1  -C 5 )alkyl group or a halo(C 3  -C 4 )alkenyl group. 
     
     
       4. The compound according to claim 1, wherein R 4  is a hydrogen atom, a C 3  -C 4  alkynyl group or a halo(C 3  -C 4 )alkenyl group. 
     
     
       5. The compound according to claim 1, wherein R 4  is a C 3  -C 4  alkynyl group or a halo(C 3  -C 4 )alkenyl group. 
     
     
       6. The compound according to claim 1, wherein R 2  is a hydrogen atom and R 4  is a C 3  -C 7  alkynyl group. 
     
     
       7. The compound according to claim 1, wherein R 2  is a hydrogen atom and R 4  is a propargyl group. 
     
     
       8. The compound according to claim 1, wherein R 2  and R 4  are both hydrogen atoms. 
     
     
       9. The compound according to claim 1, wherein R 2  is a hydrogen atom and R 4  is an ethyl group. 
     
     
       10. The compound according to claim 1, wherein R 2  is a hydrogen atom and R 4  is a propenyl group. 
     
     
       11. The compound according to claim 1, wherein R 2  is a methyl group and R 4  is a propargyl group.
