Density correcting system for film image reading equipment

Abstract

A density correcting system for a film image reading apparatus which outputs color decomposing signals of film images from an optical system after correcting the signals for density. The density correcting system is provided with density correcting tables corresponding to the individual color decomposing signals. Film image signals are formed by making corrections of the color decomposing signals for density in accordance with the tables.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A density correcting system for a film image reading apparatus which outputs color decomposing signals of said film image from an optical system after correcting the signals for density, said density correcting system comprising: a plurality of density correcting tables corresponding to said color decomposing signals, wherein at least one of said density correcting tables provides means for converting a negative image into a positive image; and   means for forming film image signals by making corrections of the color decomposing signals for density in accordance with said tables.   
     
     
       2. The density correcting system according to claim 1 wherein said density correcting tables are provided in correspondence with the types of film. 
     
     
       3. The density correcting system according to claim 2, wherein density correcting curves in the density correcting tables are bent respectively in such a manner that the outputs from the density correcting tables will not be saturated in the case that the color decomposing signals exceed a prescribed level for density. 
     
     
       4. A density correcting system according to claim 1, wherein said plurality of density correcting tables are selected in accordance with the amount of a shift in the density correction in correspondence with an information on an original sheet film. 
     
     
       5. The density correcting system according to claim 1, wherein said density correcting tables are provided with an original sheet detecting table for reversal film. 
     
     
       6. A density correcting system according to claim 1, wherein said density correcting tables are provided with density correcting tables for the contact print mode for negative film. 
     
     
       7. A density correcting system for an apparatus which reads an image fixed in any of a plurality of different types of media, and transmits color decomposing signals of said image from an optical system after correcting the signals for density, said density correcting system comprising: a plurality of density correcting tables corresponding to both the type of said media upon which said image is fixed and said color decomposing signals; and   means for forming image signals by making corrections of the color decomposing signals for density in accordance with said tables.   
     
     
       8. The density correcting system of claim 7, wherein said type of media includes photographic negatives. 
     
     
       9. The density correcting system of claim 7, wherein said type of media includes photographic slides. 
     
     
       10. The density correcting system of claim 7, wherein said type of media includes sheets of paper. 
     
     
       11. The density correcting system of claim 7, wherein said type of media includes transparencies.
