Abstract

The present invention relates to intermediates useful in the process for the preparation of a compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R 2a is hydrogen or loweralkyl, R 2b is hydrogen, loweralkyl, cycloalkyl or phenyl and R 1 is loweralkyl, cycloalky, cycloalkylalkyl, phenyl or benzyl. These intermediates are compounds of the formula: ##STR2## wherein R 1 , R 2a and R 2b are defined as above.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A substantially isomerically pure compound of the formula: ##STR6## wherein R 2a  is hydrogen or loweralkyl, R 2b  is hydrogen, loweralkyl, cycloalkyl or phenyl and R 1  is loweralkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, phenyl or benzyl. 
     
     
       2. The compound of claim 1 wherein R 2a  and R 2b  are methyl and R 1  is cyclohexylmethyl or R 2a  is hydrogen, R 2b  is phenyl and R 1  is benzyl. 
     
     
       3. The substantially isomerically pure compound of the formula: ##STR7## 
     
     
       4. A substantially isomerically pure compound of the formula: ##STR8## wherein R 2a  is hydrogen or loweralkyl, R 2b  is hydrogen, loweralkyl, cycloalkyl or phenyl and R 1  is loweralkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, phenyl or benzyl. 
     
     
       5. The compound of claim 4 wherein R 2a  and R 2b  are methyl and R 1  is cyclohexylmethyl or R 2a  is hydrogen, R 2b  is phenyl and R 1  is benzyl. 
     
     
       6. A substantially isomerically pure compound of the formula: ##STR9## wherein R 2a  is hydrogen or loweralkyl, R 2b  is hydrogen, loweralkyl, cycloalkyl or phenyl and R 1  is loweralkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, phenyl or benzyl. 
     
     
       7. The compound of claim 6 wherein R 2a  and R 2b  are methyl and R 1  is cyclohexylmethyl or R 2a  is hydrogen, R 2b  is phenyl and R 1  is benzyl. 
     
     
       8. The substantially isomerically pure compound of the formula: ##STR10## 
     
     
       9. The substantially isomerically pure compound of the formula: ##STR11##
