Abstract

A molded thermoplastic elastomer having a compression set less than about forty percent, an oxygen transmission rate of less than 500 cc/m 2 /day, a moisture vapor transmission rate of less than 2 gm/m 2 /day, and a needle penetration force of less than 2000 grams.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. A molded thermoplastic elastomer composition consisting essentially of a dispersed phase of a halobutyl rubber fully cross linked by dynamic vulcanization in the presence of at least 20 parts of a continuous matrix of a mixture formed from 10 to 60 parts of polypropylene and 1 to 90 parts of a thermoplastic elastomeric block copolymer having terminal polystyrene units and olefinic elastomeric mid block units, said parts being based upon 100 parts of said rubber, said composition having a compression set less than about forty percent, an oxygen transmission rate of less than 500 cc/m 2 /day, a moisture vapor transmission rate of less than 2 gm/m 2 /day, and a needle penetration force of less than 2000 grams.
