Radical cation salts of tetrathiotetracene and copper chloride, their preparation and the use thereof

Abstract

Radical cation salts having the composition of formula I ##STR1## wherein x has a value from -0.1 to +0.2. These radical cation salts crystallize in needle form and are electric conductors. They can be incorporated in polymers to form conductive networks of crystal needles in a polymer matrix. The polymers can be used for making antistatically treated mouldings or electrodes.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A radical cation salt having the composition of formula I ##STR3## wherein x has a value from -0.1 to +0.2. 
     
     
       2. A radical cation salt according to claim 1, wherein the value of x in formula I is -0.05 to +0.15. 
     
     
       3. A radical cation salt according to claim 1, wherein the value of x in formula I is 0.05 to +0.1. 
     
     
       4. A radical cation salt according to claim 1, wherein the value of x in formula I is -0.05 to +0.05. 
     
     
       5. A radical cation salt according to claim 1, wherein the value of x in formula I is -0.02.
