Cyclic hydrocarbons with an aminoalkyl sidechain

Abstract

Provided are cyclic hydrocarbons of Formula I <IMAGE> with an aminoalkyl sidechain that are useful for treating phospholipase A2 mediated conditions, diabetes, and obesity.

It is claimed 
     
       1. A compound of the formula wherein Z is ##STR15## wherein the dashed line indicates that the 5-6 bond is saturated or unsaturated;   wherein D is CH 3  ;   wherein E and J are hydrogen, or R 5  O--;   wherein R 5  is hydrogen, C 1  -C 3  alkyl, or HOCH 2  CH(OH)CH 2  --;   wherein X 2  and X 3  are hydrogen;   wherein X 1  is NR 1  ;   wherein R 1  is ##STR16## -(phenyl)-CH 2  -(3-pyridinyl)  wherein R 8  is hydrogen;   wherein R 2  is hydrogen, or Cl 1  -C 3  alkyl;   wherein n is 0;   wherein r is 1-8; and pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof.   
     
     
       2. A compound according to claim 1, wherein Z is Formula II   wherein Formula III is ##STR17## wherein D is CH 3  ; wherein E and J are hydrogen, or R 5  O--;   wherein R 5  is Cl alkyl;   wherein X 2  and X 3  are hydrogen;   wherein X 1  is NR 1  ;   wherein R 1  is ##STR18##  -(phenyl)-CH 2  (3-pyridinyl); wherein R 8  is hydrogen;   wherein R 2  is hydrogen;   wherein r is 1-8; and pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof.   
     
     
       3. 1-(2-(((17β)-3-methoxyestra-1,3,5(10)-trien-17-yl)amino)ethyl)-2(1H)-pyridinone. 
     
     
       4.
