Abstract
This invention relates to certain herbicidal pyrrolesulfonylureas, compositions thereof and a method for their use as herbicides or plant growth regulants.

A compound of claim 1 wherein: W is O; R 1 is H, C 1 -C 6 alkyl, allyl, CH 2 OCH 3 , CH 2 OC 2 H 5 , CH 2 SCH 3 phenyl, 2-pyridyl, 3-pyridyl, 4-pyridyl, C(O)OCH 3 or C(O)N(CH 3 ) 2 ; X is C 1 -C 2 alkyl, C 1 -C 2 alkoxy, F, Cl, Br, I, CH 2 F, CF 3 , CH 2 Cl or CH 2 Br; and Y is H, C 1 -C 2 alkyl, C 1 -C 2 alkoxy, CH 2 OCH 3 , CH 2 OCH 2 CH 3 , NHCH 3 , N(OCH 3 )CH 3 , N(CH 3 ) 2 , CF 3 , SCH 3 , OCH 2 CH═CH 2 , OCH 2 C.tbd.CH, OCH 2 CH 2 OCH 3 , CH 2 SCH 3 , C(O)R 22 , ##STR73## cyclopropyl, C.tbd.CH or C.tbd.CCH 3 .
3. A compound of claim 2 wherein: R 3 is H, CH 3 , Cl or Br; and R 4 is H, C 1 -C 2 alkyl, CH 2 CN, CH 2 OCH 3 , CH 2 SCH 3 , CH 2 S(O) 2 CH 3 , Q 2 , C(O)R 8 , C(O)OR 9 , C(O)NR 10 R 11 , C(R 12 )═NOR 13 , C(R 14 )(OR 15 )(OR 16 ), S(O) n R 17 , S(O) 2 NR 18 R 19 , F, Cl or Br; R 8 is H or C 1 -C 2 alkyl; R 9 is C 1 -C 2 alkyl or CH 2 CH 2 Cl; R 10 is H or CH 3 ; R 11 is CH 3 ; R 12 is H, CH 3 , C 2 H 5 or Cl; R 13 is CH 3 ; R 14 is H or C 1 -C 2 alkyl; R 15 and R 16 are CH 3 ; R 17 is C 1 -C 2 alkyl; R 18 is H or CH 3 ; R 19 is CH 3 ; and n is 0 or 2.
4. A compound of claim 3 wherein: R 2 is C 1 -C 2 alkyl, CH 2 CN, CH 2 OCH 3 , CH 2 SCH 3 , CH 2 S(O) 2 CH 3 , Q 2 , C(O)R 8 , C(O)OR 9 , C(O)NR 10 R 11 , C(R 12 )═NOR 13 , C(R 14 )(OR 15 )(OR 16 ), S(O) n R 17 , S(O) 2 NR 18 R 19 , F, Cl, Br, or OR 73 .
5. A compound of claim 4 wherein: R is H; and R 71 is H.
6. A compound of claim 5 wherein: J is J-1.
7. A compound of claim 5 wherein: J is J-2.
8. A compound of claim 5 wherein: J is J-3.
9. A compound of claim 6 wherein: R 2 is C 1 -C 2 alkyl, CH 2 CN, CH 2 OCH 3 , CH2SCH 3 , CH 2 S(O) 2 CH 3 , C(O)R 8 , C(O)OR 9 , C(O)N(CH 3 ) 2 , S(O) 2 CH 3 , S(O) 2 C 2 H 5 , S(O) 2 N(CH 3 ) 2 , C 1 -C 2 alkoxy, OC(O)CH 3 , or OSO 2 CH 3 ; R 4 is H, C 1 -C 2 alkyl, CH 2 CN, CH 2 OCH 3 , CH 2 SCH 3 , CH 2 S(O) 2 CH 3 , Q 2 , C(O)R 8 , C(O)OR 9 , C(O)N(CH 3 ) 2 , S(O) 2 CH 3 , S(O) 2 C 2 H 5 or S(O) 2 N(CH 3 ) 2 ; R 8 is C 1 -C 2 alkyl; R 9 is C 1 -C 2 alkyl.

A compound of claim 7 wherein: R 2 is C 1 -C 2 alkyl, CH 2 CN, CH 2 OCH 3 , CH 2 SCH 3 , CH 2 S(O) 2 CH 3 , C(O)R 8 , C(O)OR 9 , C(O)N(CH 3 ) 2 , S(O) 2 CH 3 , S(O) 2 C 2 H 5 , S(O) 2 N(CH 3 ) 2 , C 1 -C 2 alkoxy, OC(O)CH 3 , or OSO 2 CH 3 ; R 4 is H, C 1 -C 2 alkyl, CH 2 CN, CH 2 OCH 3 , CH 2 SCH 3 , CH 2 S(O) 2 CH 3 , Q 2 , C(O)R 8 , C(O)OR 9 , C(O)N(CH 3 ) 2 , S(O) 2 CH 3 or S(O) 2 N(CH 3 ) 2 ; R 8 is C 1 -C 2 alkyl; R 9 is C 1 -C 2 alkyl.

A compound of claim 8 wherein: R 2 is C 1 -C 2 alkyl, CH 2 CN, CH 2 OCH 3 , CH 2 SCH 3 , CH 2 S(O) 2 CH 3 , C(O)R 8 , C(O)OR 9 , C(O)N(CH 3 ) 2 , S(O) 2 CH 3 , S(O) 2 C 2 H 5 , S(O) 2 N(CH 3 ) 2 , C 1 -C 2 alkoxy, OC(O)CH 3 , or OSO 2 CH 3 ; R 4 is H, C 1 -C 2 alkyl, CH 2 CN, CH 2 OCH 3 , CH 2 SCH 3 , CH 2 S(O) 2 CH 3 , C(O)R 8 , C(O)OR 9 , C(O)N(CH 3 ) 2 , S(O) 2 CH 3 or S(O) 2 N(CH 3 ) 2 ; R 8 is C 1 -C 2 alkyl; R 9 is C 1 -C 2 alkyl.
12. A compound of claim 9 wherein: A is A-1; X is CH 3 , OCH 3 , OCH 2 CH 3 , or Cl; and Y is CH 3 , OCH 3 , NHCH 3 or N(CH 3 ) 2 .
13. A compound of claim 10 wherein: A is A-1; X is CH 3 , OCH 3 , OCH 2 CH 3 , or Cl; and Y is CH 3 , OCH 3 , NHCH 3 or N(CH 3 ) 2 .
14. A compound of claim 11 wherein: A is A-1; X is CH 3 , OCH 3 , OCH 2 CH 3 , or Cl; and Y is CH 3 , OCH 3 , NHCH 3 or N (CH 3 ) 2 .
15. The compound of claim 1 which is: (1-methylethyl)2-[[(4-methoxy-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)aminocarbonyl]aminosulfonyl]-1-methyl-1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylate.
16. An agriculturally suitable composition for controlling the growth of undesired vegetation comprising a herbicidally effective amount of a compound in any of claims 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 and at least one of the following surfactants: solid diluent or liquid diluent.
17. A method for controlling the growth of undesired vegetation which comprises applying to the locus to be protected a herbicidally effective amount of a compound in any of claims 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.Cited by (0)
