Abstract

A protein consisting essentially of purified oligodendrocyte-specific protein or purified biologically active variants thereof, or a combination of purified oligodendrocyte-specific protein and biologically active variants thereof. A purified and isolated peptide having the sequence Ala-Lys-Tyr-Arg-Arg-Ala-Gln-Leu-Ala-Gly, residues 115-124 of SEQ ID NO:2.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. An isolated DNA segment comprising SEQ ID NO: 1.

       2. An isolated DNA segment fully complementary to the DNA segment of claim 1.

       3. An isolated DNA segment consisting essentially of a nucleotide sequence according to SEQ ID NO: 1.

       4. An isolated DNA segment fully complementary to the DNA segment of claim 3.

       5. A vector containing the DNA segment of claim 1.

       6. A vector containing the DNA segment of claim 2.

       7. An isolated prokaryotic or eukaryotic host cell stably transformed or transfected by the vector of claim 5.

       8. An isolated prokaryotic or eukaryotic host cell stably transformed or transfected by the vector of claim 6.

       9. A method of making a protein, comprising the steps of: (a) culturing a microorganism transformed with the DNA segment according to claim 1; and (b) recovering the protein encoded by the DNA segment.
