 (a) applying to the skin or mucous membrane lesion of said patient at least one preparation for mummification of a tissue, so as to obtain, following a mummification period, a mummified skin or mucous membrane lesion that dries and separates from a base tissue thereof and preserves the morphology of the tissue thereof; and
 (b) collecting said mummified skin or mucous membrane lesion that has separated from the base tissue;
 wherein said preparation for mummification of a tissue comprises, as active ingredients, an effective amount of a composition comprising trichloroacetic acid and one or both of hydrochloric acid and formic acid.
