Abstract

The ink composition thus provided comprises: a dispersion medium; and a charged particle comprising a colorant, wherein the charged particle contains at least one polymer, and said at least one polymer includes at least one polymer having a melting point (Tm). A method of inkjet recording thus provided comprises flying an ink droplet of the ink composition by utilizing an electrostatic field.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1. An ink composition for electrostatic inkjet recording, comprising:
 a dispersion medium; and
a charged particle comprising a colorant,
wherein the charged particle contains at least one polymer, and said at least one polymer includes at least one first polymer having a melting point of from 40 to 100° C.

       2. The ink composition for electrostatic inkjet recording of claim 1 ,
wherein said at least one polymer includes said at least one first polymer in amount of from 5 to 100% by weight.

       3. The ink composition for electrostatic inkjet recording of claim 1 ,
wherein said at least one first polymer comprises a crystalline polyester compound.

       4. The ink composition for electrostatic inkjet recording of claim 1 ,
wherein said at least one first polymer comprises a crystalline polyethylene compound.

       5. The ink composition for electrostatic inkjet recording of claim 1 ,
wherein said at least one first polymer comprises a crystalline polyethylene glycol compound.

       6. The ink composition for electrostatic inkjet recording of claim 1 ,
wherein the charged particle further contains a coating material that coats the colorant, the coating material comprising at least one of (i) said at least one first polymer and (ii) at least one second polymer not having a melting point.

       7. The ink composition for electrostatic inkjet recording of claim 6 ,
which has the coating material in amount of 0.1 to 40% by weight.

       8. An method of inkjet recording comprising:
flying an ink droplet of an ink composition by utilizing an electrostatic field,
 wherein the ink composition comprises:
 a dispersion medium; and
a charged particle comprising a colorant,
wherein the charged particle contains at least one polymer, and said at least one polymer includes at least one first polymer having a melting point of from 40 to 100° C.
