Abstract
A golf ball comprising: a core comprising a polybutadiene rubber having a cis-content of greater than 90%, a crosslinking agent, and an initiator, the core having an ATTI compression of less than 20; an inner cover layer comprising ethylene, from 5 weight % to 30 weight % of an α, β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, and from 5 weight % to 25 weight % of a softening comonomer; and a cover comprising ethylene and from 5 weight % to 35 weight % of an α, β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid; wherein 100% of the carboxylic acid groups of the inner cover layer are neutralized.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1. A golf ball comprising:
a core comprising a polybutadiene rubber having a cis-content of greater than 90%, a crosslinking agent, and an initiator, the core having an Atti compression of less than 20;
an inner cover layer comprising ethylene, from 5 weight % to 30 weight % of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, and from 5 weight % to 25 weight % of a softening comonomer; and
a cover comprising ethylene and from 5 weight % to 35 weight % of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid;
wherein 100% of the carboxylic acid groups of the inner cover layer are neutralized.
2. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the core has an Atti compression of less than 10.
3. The golf ball of claim 2 , wherein the core has an Atti compression of 0.
4. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the softening comonomer comprises a C 1-8 alkyl acrylate.
5. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the α,βethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid is present in the inner cover layer in an amount of from 10 weight % to 20 weight %.
6. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the softening comonomer is present in the inner cover layer in an amount of from 10 weight % to 20 weight %.
7. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the ethylene in the inner cover layer is present in an amount of from 85 weight % to 25 weight %.
8. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid in the cover layer is present in an amount of from 8 weight % to 25 weight %.
9. The golf ball of claim 8 , wherein the α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid in the cover layer is present in an amount of from 8 weight % to 20 weight %.
10. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the cover layer is substantially free of a softening comonomer.
11. The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the ethylene in the cover layer is present in an amount of from 80 weight % to 92 weight %.
12. A golf ball comprising:
a core comprising a polybutadiene rubber having a cis-content of greater than 95%, a crosslinking agent, and an initiator, the core having an Atti compression of less than 10;
an inner cover layer comprising ethylene, from 10 weight % to 20 weight % of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, and from 10 weight % to 20 weight % of a alkyl acrylate; and
a cover comprising ethylene and from 8 weight % to 25 weight % of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid;
wherein 100% of the carboxylic acid groups of the inner cover layer are neutralized.
13. A golf ball comprising:
a core comprising a polybutadiene rubber having a cis-content of greater than 95%, a crosslinking agent, and an initiator, the core having an Atti compression of 0;
an inner cover layer comprising ethylene, from 10 weight % to 20 weight % of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, and from 10 weight % to 20 weight % of a C 1-8 alkyl acrylate; and
a cover comprising ethylene and from 8 weight % to 20 weight % of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid;
wherein 100% of the carboxylic acid groups of the inner cover layer are neutralized.Cited by (0)
