Claims
Abstract
A continuous film that includes ethylene copolymer selected from the group consisting of ethylene vinyl acetate, ethylene n-butylacrylate carbon monoxide, ethylene vinyl acetate carbon monoxide, and combinations thereof. The film exhibits a moisture vapor transmission rate of at least 100 g/m 2 /day when measured according to MVTR Test Method I.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1. A continuous film consisting essentially of ethylene vinyl acetate having a melt index of at least 50 g/10 min at 190° C., said film exhibiting a moisture vapor transmission rate of at least 100 g/m 2 /day when measured according to MVTR Test Method I.
2. The film of claim 1 , wherein said ethylene vinyl acetate has a vinyl acetate content of from about 40% by weight to about 85% by weight.
3. The film of claim 1 , wherein said ethylene vinyl acetate has a vinyl acetate content of from about 60% by weight to about 85% by weight.
4. The film of claim 1 , wherein said ethylene vinyl acetate has a melt index of at least 400 g/10 min at 190° C.
5. An article comprising:
a first layer; and
a second layer comprising the continuous film of claim 1 bonded to said first layer.
6. The article of claim 5 , wherein said film has an area weight of no greater than 25 g/m 2 .
7. The article of claim 5 , wherein said film has an area weight of no greater than 15 g/m 2 .
8. The article of claim 5 , where said first layer is selected from the group consisting of a fibrous nonwoven web, paper, tissue, fibrous web, textile fabric and combinations thereof.
9. A continuous film consisting of ethylene copolymer selected from the group consisting of ethylene vinyl acetate, ethylene n-butylacrylate carbon monoxide, ethylene vinyl acetate carbon monoxide, and combinations thereof, said ethylene copolymer having a melt index of at least 50 g/10 min at 190° C., said film exhibiting a moisture vapor transmission rate of at least 100 g/m 2 /day when measured according to MVTR Test Method I.
10. The film of claim 9 , wherein said ethylene copolymer consists of a blend comprising a first ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer and a second ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer different from said first ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer.
11. A continuous pressure sensitive adhesive film consisting essentially of:
at least one ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer having a melt index of at least 50 g/10 min at 190° C.;
no greater than 50% by weight plasticizer; and
optionally antioxidant, said film exhibiting a moisture vapor transmission rate of at least 100 g/m 2 /day when measured according to MVTR Test Method I.
12. The film of claim 11 , wherein said ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer has a vinyl acetate content of at least 40% by weight.
13. The film of claim 11 , wherein said ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer has a vinyl acetate content of at least 60% by weight.
14. The film of claim 11 , wherein said at least one ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer comprises a blend comprising a first ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer and a second vinyl acetate copolymer different from said first ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer.
15. A continuous pressure sensitive adhesive film consisting essentially of:
ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer;
no greater than 50% by weight plasticizer selected from the group consisting of phosphates, polyalklylene glycols, dionyl phenol ethoxylates, ethoxylated bisphenol A, phosphites, toluene sulfonamide, and combinations thereof; and
optionally antioxidant,
said film exhibiting a moisture vapor transmission rate of at least 100 g/m 2 /day when measured according to MVTR Test Method I.
16. A continuous pressure sensitive adhesive film consisting essentially of:
ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer;
plasticizer comprising a citric acid ester, a benzoic acid ester, or a combination thereof; and
optionally antioxidant,
said film exhibiting a moisture vapor transmission rate of at least 100 g/m 2 /day when measured according to MVTR Test Method I.
17. An article comprising:
a first layer; and
a second layer bonded to said first layer, said second layer comprising a continuous film consisting essentially of ethylene vinyl acetate having a melt index of at least 50 g/10 min at 190° C., said film exhibiting a moisture vapor transmission rate of at least 100 g/m 2 /day when measured according to MVTR Test Method I, and wherein said film has an area weight of no greater than 25 g/m 2 .
18. An article comprising:
a first layer; and
a second layer bonded to said first layer, said second layer comprising a continuous film consisting essentially of ethylene vinyl acetate having a melt index of at least 50 g/10 min at 190° C., said film exhibiting a moisture vapor transmission rate of at least 100 g/m 2 /day when measured according to MVTR Test Method I, said film having a thickness of up to 2 mil.
19. The article of claim 18 , wherein said ethylene vinyl acetate has a vinyl acetate content of from about 40% by weight to about 85% by weight.
20. The article of claim 18 , wherein said ethylene vinyl acetate has a vinyl acetate content of from about 60% by weight to about 85% by weight.
21. The article of claim 18 , wherein said ethylene copolymer consists of a blend comprising a first ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer and a second ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer different from said first ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer.
22. The article of claim 18 , wherein said ethylene vinyl acetate has a melt index of at least 400 g/10 min at 190° C.Cited by (0)
