Abstract

The invention provides isolated nucleic acid molecules, designated ACTR-1 nucleic acid molecules, which encode novel acyltransferase family members. The invention also provides antisense nucleic acid molecules, recombinant expression vectors containing ACTR-1 nucleic acid molecules, host cells into which the expression vectors have been introduced, and nonhuman transgenic animals in which an ACTR-1 gene has been introduced or disrupted. The invention still further provides isolated ACTR-1 proteins, fusion proteins, antigenic peptides and anti-ACTR-1 antibodies. Diagnostic methods utilizing compositions of the invention are also provided.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. An isolated polypeptide selected from the group consisting of:
 a) a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID) NO:2; and
 b) a polypeptide encoded by a nucleic acid comprising the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 or SEQ ID NO:3.

       2. The isolated polypeptide of claim 1 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID) NO:2.

       3. The polypeptide of claim 1 further comprising heterologous amino acid sequences.

       4. The polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide is encoded by a nucleic acid comprising the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 or SEQ ID NO:3.

       5. The polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide consists of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID) NO:2.

       6. The polypeptide of claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide is encoded by a nucleic acid consisting of the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 or SEQ ID NO:3.

       7. The polypeptide of claim 2 , further comprising heterologous amino acid sequences.

       8. The polypeptide of claim 4 , further comprising heterologous amino acid sequences.
