Abstract

A carrier for large objects includes a bag made of a sheet of plastic film material. The bag is sized to receive a large object and has an opening for placing the object into the bag. An extension on at least one side of the bag has a plurality of layers of the plastic film material formed with a gusset. Handles are formed as openings in the extension. The bag has a seal for bonding the layers of film together along at least a portion of the length of the side having the extension. The seal is formed along a line between an outer edge of the gusset and an inner edge of the gusset.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1. A device for carrying large objects comprising:
 a bag;
 handles in an extension on at least one side or end of said bag;
 said extension comprising a gusset including multiple layers of film on the at least one side or end of said bag, wherein the gusset has a first gusset side and an opposing second gusset side; and
 an opening in said bag for placing an object into the bag;
 wherein the handles are formed through the first and second gusset sides, an extension is included on each side of the bag, and said handles are placed in said extensions on each side of said bag.

     2. The device of claim 1 wherein said device can be stored in a compact condition when not in use.

     3. The device of claim 1 wherein said multiple layers of film comprise at least four layers.

     4. The device of claim 1 wherein said object is selected from the group consisting of: a roll of carpet, floor lamp, pieces of sheet rock, wall panels, large artwork, and office partitions.

     5. The device of claim 1 wherein the multiple layers of film comprise a plastic film material.

     6. The device of claim 5 wherein the plastic film material comprises polyethylene.

     7. A device for carrying large objects comprising:
 a bag;
 handles in an extension on at least one side or end of said bag;
 said extension comprising a gusset including multiple layers of film on the at least one side or end of said bag, wherein the gusset has a first gusset side and an opposing second gusset side; and
 an opening in said bag for placing an object into the bag;
 wherein the handles are formed through the first and second gusset sides, an extension is included on each end of the bag, and wherein said handles are placed in said extensions on each end of said bag.

     8. A device for carrying large objects comprising:
 a bag;
 handles in an extension on at least one side or end of said bag;
 said extension comprising a gusset including multiple layers of film on the at least one side or end of said bag, wherein the gusset has a first gusset side and an opposing second gusset side; and
 an opening in said bag for placing an object into the bag;
 wherein the handles are formed through the first and second gusset sides and wherein the extension is on a closed end of the bag and said handles are placed in said extension of the closed end, with additional handles in both a front and back of said bag at an open end.

     9. A device for carrying large objects comprising:
 a bag;
 handles in extensions on two or more sides or ends of said bag;
 each of said extensions comprising a gusset including multiple layers of film, wherein the gusset has a first gusset side and an opposing second gusset side; and
 an opening in said bag for placing an object into the bag;
 wherein the handles are formed through the first and second gusset sides and wherein said handles are placed in said extensions on each side of said bag with the opening on one end of said bag, in said extensions on each end of said bag with an opening on one side of said bag, or in said extension of a closed end, with additional handles in both front and back of said bag at an open end.
