Abstract

The present invention relates to a kit for diagnosing a disorder comprising a reagent that detects FGF23 polypeptides and mutant FGF23 polypeptides.

A kit for diagnosing a hypophosphatemic disorder in a mammal, said kit comprising an antibody that detects a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, wherein an elevated level of said detected polypeptide is an indication that said mammal is afflicted with said hypophosphatemic disorder, wherein said hypophosphatemic disorder is selected from the group consisting of X-linked hypophosphatemic rickets and tumor induced osteomalacias.
