Abstract

Provided herein is a system for adjusting parameters for binaural hearing assistance devices. A graphical user interface (GUI) control is provided for adjusting at least one parameter for at least one hearing assistance device. In various embodiments, the control is indicative of status of at least one parameter for at least one device. When a pointer, controlled by a mouse or other selecting device, is placed over the control, the control expands. In various applications the control expands to display options for adjusting at least one parameter for at least one device. In some applications, the control provides options to adjust at least one parameter of a left and a right device individually.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1. A method for adjusting one or more parameters for one or more hearing assistance devices, comprising:
 providing a control on a graphical display for adjusting at least one parameter for at least one hearing assistance device of the one or more hearing assistance devices, the control adapted to expand to provide additional options for adjusting at least one parameter for at least one device when a pointer is hovered over the control.

       2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the control is adapted to provide one or more enhanced indicators for at least one parameter for at least one hearing assistance device when expanded.

       3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the enhanced indicators include numerical, text, color, indicators or a combination thereof.

       4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the control includes adjustment options for additional parameters for at least one device.

       5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the control includes adjustment options for additional parameters for additional devices.

       6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one device includes a left and a right device, and wherein the control includes a left slider and a right slider, the left slider representing a parameter of the left hearing assistance device and adapted to adjust the parameter for the left device, and the right slider representing the parameter of the right hearing assistance device and adapted to adjust the parameter for the right device.

       7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising:
 adjusting one or more of the left slider and the right slider on the graphical display using the pointer.

       8. The method of claim 6 , further comprising:
 adjusting a third slider of a control on a graphical display, the third slider representing the parameter of the hearing assistance devices, wherein the third slider is adapted to adjust the parameter for both the left and the right device.

       9. The method of claim 7 , wherein adjusting the sliders includes using the pointer to adjust the sliders.

       10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pointer includes a mouse to move the pointer over a center portion of the control.

       11. A method, comprising:
 providing a graphical user interface (GUI) for adjusting at least one parameter for at least one hearing assistance device;
 providing at least one control on the GUI, the control indicative of status of the at least one parameter; and
 expanding the control to display at least one option for adjusting at least one parameter for at least one device when detecting a pointer over the control.

       12. The method of claim 11 , wherein expanding the control to display options comprises displaying options for adjusting left or right devices individually.

       13. The method of claim 11 , wherein expanding the control to display options comprises displaying options for adjusting both left and right devices together.

       14. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions for a graphical interface for adjusting at least one parameter for at least one hearing assistance device performing a method, comprising:
 providing a control on a graphical display for adjusting the at least one parameter for the at least one hearing assistance device; and
 detecting a pointer hovering over the control to expand the control to provide additional options for adjusting the at least one parameter.

       15. The computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the at least one hearing assistance device includes a left and a right device, and wherein detecting a pointer hovering over a control to expand the control includes providing a left slider and a right slider, the left slider representing a parameter of the left hearing assistance device and adapted to adjust the parameter for the left device, and the right slider representing the parameter of the right hearing assistance device and adapted to adjust the parameter for the right device.

       16. The computer-readable medium of claim 15 , further comprising:
 reading adjustment of one or more of the left slider and the right slider on the graphical display using the pointer.

       17. The computer-readable medium of claim 14 , further comprising:
 detecting removal of the pointer from the control to contract the control.

       18. A system for adjusting at least one parameter in at least one hearing assistance device, comprising:
 a monitor for displaying a graphical interface;
 a selection device for moving a graphical pointer displayed on the graphical interface; and
 a computer coupled to the monitor and the selection device, the computer adapted to provide a control on a graphical display for adjusting the at least one parameter for the at least one hearing assistance device and to detect a pointer hovered over the control to expand the control to provide additional options for adjusting at least one parameter for at least one device.

       19. The system of claim 18 , wherein the selection device includes a mouse.

       20. The system of claim 18 , wherein the computer includes a handheld device.
