Abstract
An intravascular snare device for use in capturing debris found in blood vessels. The snare device is fabricated from a tube and includes longitudinally and circumferentially extending members. The snare device specifically embodies structure that provides enhanced radial opening and angular resistance to collapse.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1. A snare device for use in vasculature, comprising:
an elongate member having a first end and a second end;
a distal tip portion located on the second end of the elongate member, the distal tip portion including a first coil and a second coil, the second coil being disposed adjacent to the first coil, the first and second coils being made from different materials; and
a body configured to engage or capture material found in the vasculature, the body including a proximally extending tab which is attached to the distal tip portion of the elongate member, wherein at least a portion of the second coil is disposed over at least a portion of the proximally extending tab.
2. The device of claim 1 , wherein the distal tip portion includes a blunt terminal end formed from a solder joint.
3. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first coil is made from nitinol.
4. The device of claim 3 , wherein the second coil is made from an alloy made from about 90% platinum and about 10% iridium.
5. The device of claim 1 , wherein the distal tip portion includes a weld which connects the proximally extending tab to the distal end of the elongate member.
6. The device of claim 1 , further including a weld connecting the first coil to the distal end of the elongate member.
7. The device of claim 6 , further including a weld connecting the first coil to the second coil.
8. The device of claim 1 , further including a weld connecting the second coil to the distal end of the elongate member.
9. The device of claim 1 , further includes a weld which connects the proximally extending tab to the distal end of the elongate member.
10. The device of claim 1 , wherein the body includes a distal end having a distal tip made from an inner coil and an outer coil attached thereto, the outer coil being coaxially disposed about at least a portion of the inner coil.
11. The device of claim 10 , wherein the inner coil is made from nitinol.
12. The device of claim 11 , wherein the outer coil is made from an alloy made from about 90% platinum and about 10% iridium.
13. The device of claim 10 , wherein at least a portion of the body extends distally from the distal end of the elongate member.
14. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first coil is made from stainless steel.
15. The device of claim 14 , wherein the second coil is made from an alloy made from about 90% platinum and about 10% iridium.
16. The device of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the body extends distally from the distal end of the elongate member.Cited by (0)
