Polymeric compounds and related methods and apparatus, as can be used in a wide range of RNA and DNA separations.

1. A poly-N-alkoxyalkylacrylamide compound comprising a copolymer of N-methoxyethylacrylamide and N-ethoxyethylacrylamide, said compound having a weight-average molar-mass from about 2 MDa to about 5 MDa. 
     
     
       2. The compound of  claim 1  comprising up to about 25 weight percent N-ethoxyethylacrylamide. 
     
     
       3. The compound of  claim 2  comprising about 10 weight percent of N-ethoxyethylacrylamide.
