Abstract
A disease management system, methods, and devices are shown and described. In one embodiment, the system includes an infusion pump and a remote controller with the ability to be paired to each other. A method to verify a wireless connection between an infusion pump and a remote controller is shown and described herein. In a further embodiment, a method to verify a wireless connection between an infusion pump and a remote controller is provided. In addition, a method of operating a diabetes management system is provided in which the system includes an infusion pump and at least a remote controller.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A method to verify a wireless connection between an infusion pump and a remote controller, the method comprising:
placing a remote controller in a wireless link with the infusion pump;
providing identification information specific to the infusion pump to the remote controller;
providing identification information specific to the remote controller on the infusion pump; and
confirming that the infusion pump's identification is received by the remote controller and that remote controller identification information is received by the infusion pump, in which the confirming includes displaying identification specific to the remote controller on a display of the infusion pump and identification information specific to the infusion pump on a display of the remote controller.
2. The method of claim 1 , in which the identification information specific to the infusion pump is selected from a group consisting essentially of a serial number of the device; names; icons; avatars, speech identification, sounds, or combinations thereof.
3. The method of claim 1 , in which the identification information specific to the controller is selected from a group consisting essentially of a serial number of the device; names; icons; avatars, speech identification, sounds, or combinations thereof.
4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising
connecting another remote controller to the infusion pump via a wireless link;
providing identification information specific to the infusion pump to the another remote controller; and
providing identification information specific to the another remote controller on the infusion pump.
5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising:
ignoring any command from the remote controller upon confirmation of the another remote controller by the user.
6. The method of claim 1 , in which the remote controller identification information comprise a user selected indicia.
7. The method of claim 6 , in which the user-selected indicia is selected from a group consisting of a user selected text nomenclature, user selected icon, user selected audio, user selected visual indicia, and combinations thereof.Cited by (0)
