Claims

Abstract

Compositions and methods for treating ocular cancer are provided. The composition is a subconjunctival formulation of nutlin-3 and its analogs. The composition provides for methods of treating ocular cancer, including retinoblastoma. The formulation has high penetration into ocular tissue with low toxicity.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A composition for treating ocular cancer comprising an effective amount of nutlin-3 or a nutlin-3 analog in a solution consisting of polypropylene glycol (pPPG), propropolene glycol (PPG), polyoxyl 35 castor oil (Cremophor eL), and phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), wherein said nutlin-3 analog is nutlin-3a. 
     
     
       2. The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the solution consists of 15% pPPG, up to 10% PPG, 5% Cremophor eL, and 70% PBS. 
     
     
       3. The composition of  claim 1 , wherein the composition is co-administered with an antineoplastic agent. 
     
     
       4. The composition of  claim 3 , wherein the antineoplastic agent is topotecan.
