Gaming system and method for providing a multi-dimensional symbol wagering game with rotating symbols
Abstract
A gaming system and method providing a multi-dimensional symbol wagering game is provided. A player selects a payline, places a wager on the selected payline, and selects a plurality of a plurality of different symbols in a selection order. Symbols are generated and displayed at each of a plurality of symbol display positions. If at least a designated quantity of the symbol display positions associated with the selected payline displays any one of the selected symbols, the gaming system determines a display order of the generated and displayed symbols associated with the selected payline, and determines any awards associated with the selected payline based on a quantity of the symbol display positions associated with the selected payline that display the player selected symbols and a comparison of the selection order with the display order. Any awards are provided to the player. Cascading and rotating symbol features are provided.

1. A gaming system comprising:
at least one input device;
at least one display device;
at least one processor; and
at least one memory device storing a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate with the at least one input device and the at least one display device to, for a play of a wagering game:
(a) receive, from a player, a selection of one or more of a plurality of paylines, at least one wager associated with the player selected paylines, and a selection of a designated quantity of a plurality of different symbols in a first selection order, each of the paylines being associated with a plurality of a plurality of symbol display positions of a plurality of symbol display position grids, each of the symbol display positions being configured to display one of a plurality of multiple dimension symbols, each of the symbol display position grids being associated with a different depth, the symbol display positions of each of the symbol display position grids forming at least three columns and at least three rows including a first row, a second row positioned adjacent to the first row, and a third row positioned adjacent to the second row;
(b) randomly generate a plurality of the multiple dimension symbols at the symbol display positions, each of the multiple dimension symbols including a plurality of symbol sides displaying at least one of the plurality of different symbols;
(c) display a plurality of the symbol sides of each of a plurality of the generated multiple dimension symbols such that at least one of the symbol sides of each of the plurality of the generated multiple dimension symbols is initially displayed and at least one of the symbol sides of each of the plurality of the generated multiple dimension symbols is not initially displayed;
(d) determine any awards associated with the player-selected paylines based on the symbols displayed at the displayed symbol sides and the first selection order;
(e) after a triggering event occurs:
(i) reposition the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with at least one of the symbol display position grids relative to the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with at least one of the other symbol display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed symbol sides are not displayed and a plurality of the symbol sides not initially displayed are displayed, and
(ii) determine any awards associated with the player-selected paylines based on the symbols displayed at the displayed symbol sides and a second selection order; and
(f) provide any determined awards to the player.
2. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein, for each of the generated multiple dimension symbols, at least one of the symbol sides of said generated multiple dimension symbol is not initially displayed.

The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the symbol display position grids relative to the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the other symbol display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed symbol sides are not displayed and a plurality of the symbol sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the symbol display position grids.

The gaming system of claim 3 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to display said rotation while not displaying any rotation of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the other symbol display position grids.
5. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein each of the paylines is associated with a different plurality of the symbol display positions.
6. The gaming system of claim 5 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to determine any awards associated with the player-selected paylines based on the displayed symbols and the first selection order by comparing a display order of the symbols displayed at the symbol display positions associated with said player-selected paylines with the first selection order.
7. The gaming system of claim 5 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to determine any awards associated with the player-selected paylines based on the displayed symbols and the second selection order by comparing a display order of the symbols displayed at the symbol display positions associated with said player-selected paylines with the second selection order.
8. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the symbols include a designated symbol, and wherein the triggering event occurs when the designated symbol is displayed.
9. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the first selection order and the second selection order are identical.
10. A method of operating a gaming system, said method comprising:
(a) causing at least one processor to execute a plurality of instructions stored in at least one memory device to operate with at least one input device to receive, from a player, a selection of one or more of a plurality of paylines, at least one wager associated with the player selected paylines, and a selection of a designated quantity of a plurality of different symbols in a first selection order, each of the paylines being associated with a plurality of a plurality of symbol display positions of a plurality of symbol display position grids, each of the symbol display positions being configured to display one of a plurality of multiple dimension symbols, each of the symbol display position grids being associated with a different depth, the symbol display positions of each of the symbol display position grids forming at least three columns and at least three rows including a first row, a second row positioned adjacent to the first row, and a third row positioned adjacent to the second row;
(b) causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to randomly generate a plurality of the multiple dimension symbols at the symbol display positions, each of the multiple dimension symbols including a plurality of symbol sides displaying at least one of the plurality of different symbols;
(c) causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to operate with at least one display device to display a plurality of the symbol sides of each of a plurality of the generated multiple dimension symbols such that at least one of the symbol sides of each of the plurality of the generated multiple dimension symbols is initially displayed and at least one of the symbol sides of each of the plurality of the generated multiple dimension symbols is not initially displayed;
(d) causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to determine any awards associated with the player-selected paylines based on the symbols displayed at the displayed symbol sides and the first selection order; and
(e) after a triggering event occurs:
(i) causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with at least one of the symbol display position grids relative to the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with at least one of the other symbol display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed symbol sides are not displayed and a plurality of the symbol sides not initially displayed are displayed, and
(ii) causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to determine any awards associated with the player-selected paylines based on the symbols displayed at the displayed symbol sides and a second selection order; and
(f) causing any determined awards to be provided to the player.
11. The method of claim 10 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to not initially display at least one of the symbol sides of each of the generated multiple dimension symbols.
12. The method of claim 10 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with at least one of the symbol display position grids relative to the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with at least one of the other symbol display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed symbol sides are not displayed and a plurality of the symbol sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with at least one of the symbol display position grids.
13. The method of claim 12 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to display said rotation while not displaying any rotation of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the other symbol display position grids.
14. The method of claim 10 , wherein each of the paylines is associated with a different plurality of the symbol display positions.
15. The method of claim 14 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to determine any awards associated with the player-selected paylines based on the displayed symbols and the first selection order by comparing a display order of the symbols displayed at the symbol display positions associated with said player-selected paylines with the first selection order.
16. The method of claim 14 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to determine any awards associated with the player-selected paylines based on the displayed symbols and the second selection order by comparing a display order of the symbols displayed at the symbol display positions associated with said player-selected paylines with the second selection order.
17. The method of claim 10 , wherein the symbols include a designated symbol, and wherein the triggering event occurs when the designated symbol is displayed.
18. The method of claim 10 , wherein the first selection order and the second selection order are identical.
19. The method of claim 10 , which is provided through a data network.
20. The method of claim 19 , wherein the data network is an internet.
21. A gaming system comprising:
at least one input device;
at least one display device;
at least one processor; and
at least one memory device storing a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate with the at least one input device and the at least one display device to, for a play of a wagering game:
(a) receive, from a player:
(i) a selection of one or more of a plurality of paylines, each of the paylines being associated with a different plurality of a plurality of symbol display positions, wherein:
(A) each of the symbol display positions is configured to display one of a plurality of different multiple dimension symbols;
(B) each of the multiple dimension symbols is associated with a plurality of symbol sides, each of the symbol sides displaying one of a plurality of different symbols;
(C) each of the symbol display positions is associated with one of a plurality of symbol display position grids;
(D) each of the symbol display position grids is associated with a different depth;
(E) the symbol display positions of each of the symbol display position grids form at least three columns and at least three rows including a first row, a second row positioned adjacent to the first row, and a third row positioned adjacent to the second row; and
(F) a plurality of the symbol display positions of a first one of the symbol display position grids associated with a first depth correspond to a plurality of the symbol display positions of a second one of the symbol display position grids associated with a second, different depth;
(ii) at least one wager associated with the player selected paylines; and
(iii) a selection of a designated quantity of the symbols in a selection order;
(b) randomly generate one of the multiple dimension symbols at each of a plurality of the symbol display positions of each of a plurality of the symbol display position grids;
(c) display a plurality of the symbol sides of each of a plurality of the generated multiple dimension symbols, wherein:
(i) at least one of the symbol sides of each of the plurality of the generated multiple dimension symbols is initially displayed, and
(ii) at least one of the symbol sides of each of the plurality of the multiple dimension symbols is not initially displayed;
(d) for each of the player selected paylines, if each of at least a designated quantity of the displayed symbol sides of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with said player selected payline displays any one of the player selected symbols, the designated quantity being at least one:
(i) determine a display order of the symbols displayed at the displayed symbol sides of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with said player selected payline;
(ii) determine any awards associated with said player selected payline based on:
(A) a quantity of the displayed symbol sides of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with said player selected payline that display the player selected symbols, and
(B) a comparison of the selection order with the display order; and
(iii) display any determined awards; and
(e) after a triggering event occurs, reposition a plurality of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with at least one of the symbol display position grids relative to the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with at least one of the other symbol display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed symbol sides are not displayed and a plurality of the symbol sides not initially displayed are displayed.
22. The gaming system of claim 21 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate with the at least one display device to, for each of a plurality of the generated multiple dimension symbols, display at least one of the symbol sides of said generated multiple dimension symbol and not display at least one of the symbol sides of said generated multiple dimension symbol.
23. The gaming system of claim 21 , wherein, for each of the generated multiple dimension symbols, at least one of the symbol sides of said generated multiple dimension symbol is not initially displayed.
24. The gaming system of claim 21 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the symbol display position grids relative to the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the other symbol display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed symbol sides are not displayed and a plurality of the symbol sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the symbol display position grids.

The gaming system of claim 24 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to display said rotation while not displaying any rotation of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the other symbol display position grids.
26. The gaming system of claim 21 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the symbol display position grids relative to the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the other symbol display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed symbol sides are not displayed and a plurality of the symbol sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with one of the symbol display position grids.

The gaming system of claim 21 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the symbol display position grids relative to the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the other symbol display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed symbol sides are not displayed and a plurality of the symbol sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension symbols generated at a the symbol display positions associated with a plurality of the symbol display position grids.
28. The gaming system of claim 21 , wherein the symbols include a designated symbol, and wherein the triggering event occurs when the designated symbol is displayed.
29. The gaming system of claim 28 , wherein the triggering event occurs when the designated symbol is displayed on a symbol side of a generated multiple dimension symbol associated with one of the player selected paylines.
30. The gaming system of claim 28 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, when the designated symbol is displayed on a symbol side of a generated multiple dimension symbol, reposition the generated multiple dimension symbol such that at least one of the initially displayed symbol sides of said multiple dimension symbol is not displayed and at least one of the symbol sides of said multiple dimension symbol or another generated multiple dimension symbol not initially displayed is displayed.
31. The gaming system of claim 21 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to repeat (d) at least once.
32. The gaming system of claim 21 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to repeat (d) to (e) at least once.
33. A method of operating a gaming system, the method comprising:
(a) causing at least one processor to execute a plurality of instructions stored in at least one memory device to operate with at least one input device to receive, from a player:
(i) a selection of one or more of a plurality of paylines, each of the paylines being associated with a different plurality of a plurality of symbol display positions, wherein:
(A) each of the symbol display positions is configured to display one of a plurality of different multiple dimension symbols;
(B) each of the multiple dimension symbols is associated with a plurality of symbol sides, each of the symbol sides displaying one of a plurality of different symbols;
(C) each of the symbol display positions is associated with one of a plurality of symbol display position grids;
(D) each of the symbol display position grids is associated with a different depth;
(E) the symbol display positions of each of the symbol display position grids form at least three columns and at least three rows including a first row, a second row positioned adjacent to the first row, and a third row positioned adjacent to the second row; and
(F) a plurality of the symbol display positions of a first one of the symbol display position grids associated with a first depth correspond to a plurality of the symbol display positions of a second one of the symbol display position grids associated with a second, different depth;
(ii) at least one wager associated with the player selected paylines; and
(iii) a selection of a designated quantity of the symbols in a selection order;
(b) causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to randomly generate one of the multiple dimension symbols at each of a plurality of the symbol display positions of each of a plurality of the symbol display position grids;
(c) causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to operate with at least one display device to display a plurality of the symbol sides of each of a plurality of the generated multiple dimension symbols, wherein:
(i) at least one of the symbol sides of each of the plurality of the generated multiple dimension symbols is initially displayed, and
(ii) at least one of the symbol sides of each of the plurality of the generated is not initially displayed;
(d) causing the at least one processor to, for each of the player selected paylines, if each of at least a designated quantity of the displayed symbol sides of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with said player selected payline displays any one of the player selected symbols, the designated quantity being at least one:
(i) determine a display order of the symbols displayed at the displayed symbol sides of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with said player selected payline;
(ii) determine any awards associated with said player selected payline based on:
(A) a quantity of the displayed symbol sides of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with said player selected payline that display the player selected symbols, and
(B) a comparison of the selection order with the display order; and
(iii) operate with the at least one display device to display any determined awards; and
(e) after a triggering event occurs, causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to operate with the at least one display device to reposition a plurality of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with at least one of the symbol display position grids relative to the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with at least one of the other symbol display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed symbol sides are not displayed, and a plurality of the symbol sides not initially displayed are displayed.
34. The method of claim 33 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to operate with the at least one display device to, for each of a plurality of the generated multiple dimension symbols, display at least one of the symbol sides of said generated multiple dimension symbol and not display at least one of the symbol sides of said generated multiple dimension symbol.
35. The method of claim 33 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to not initially display at least one of the symbol sides of each of the generated multiple dimension symbols.
36. The method of claim 33 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the symbol display position grids relative to the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the other symbol display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed symbol sides are not displayed and a plurality of the symbol sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the symbol display position grids.
37. The method of claim 36 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition display said rotation while not displaying any rotation of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the other symbol display position grids.
38. The method of claim 33 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the symbol display position grids relative to the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the other symbol display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed symbol sides are not displayed and a plurality of the symbol sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with one of the symbol display position grids.
39. The method of claim 33 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the symbol display position grids relative to the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with the at least one of the other symbol display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed symbol sides are not displayed and a plurality of the symbol sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension symbols generated at the symbol display positions associated with a plurality of the symbol display position grids.
40. The method of claim 33 , wherein the symbols include a designated symbol, and wherein the triggering event occurs when the designated symbol is displayed.
41. The method of claim 40 , wherein the triggering event occurs when the designated symbol is displayed on a symbol side of a generated multiple dimension symbol associated with one of the player selected paylines.
42. The method of claim 40 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to, when the designated symbol is displayed on a symbol side of a generated multiple dimension symbol, reposition the generated multiple dimension symbol such that at least one of the initially displayed symbol sides of said multiple dimension symbol is not displayed and at least one of the symbol sides of said multiple dimension symbol or another generated multiple dimension symbol not initially displayed is displayed.
43. The method of claim 40 , which includes repeating (d) at least once.
44. The method of claim 40 , which includes repeating (d) to (e) at least once.
45. The method of claim 40 , which is provided through a data network.
46. The method of claim 45 , wherein the data network is an internet.
47. A gaming system comprising:
at least one input device;
at least one display device;
at least one processor; and
at least one memory device storing a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate with the at least one input device and the at least one display device to, for a play of a wagering game:
(a) receive, from a player:
(i) a selection of one or more of a plurality of paylines, each of the paylines being associated with a different plurality of a plurality of digit display positions, wherein:
(A) each of the digit display positions is configured to display one of a plurality of different multiple dimension digits;
(B) each of the multiple dimension digits is associated with a plurality of digit sides, each of the digit sides displaying one of a plurality of different digits;
(C) each of the digit display positions is associated with one of a plurality of digit display position grids;
(D) each of the digit display position grids is associated with a different depth;
(E) the digit display positions of each of the digit display position grids form at least three columns and at least three rows including a first row, a second row positioned adjacent to the first row, and a third row positioned adjacent to the second row; and
(F) a plurality of the digit display positions of a first one of the digit display position grids associated with a first depth correspond to a plurality of the digit display positions of a second one of the digit display position grids associated with a second, different depth;
(ii) at least one wager associated with the player selected paylines; and
(iii) a selection of a designated quantity of the digits in a selection order;
(b) randomly generate one of the multiple dimension digits at each of a plurality of the digit display positions of each of a plurality of the digit display position grids;
(c) display a plurality of the digit sides of each of a plurality of the generated multiple dimension digits, wherein:
(i) at least one of the digit sides of each of the plurality of the generated multiple dimension digits is initially displayed, and
(ii) at least one of the digit sides of each of the plurality of the generated multiple dimension digits is not initially displayed;
(d) for each of the player selected paylines, if each of at least a designated quantity of the displayed digit sides of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with said player selected payline displays any one of the player selected digits, the designated quantity being at least one:
(i) determine a display order of the digits displayed at the displayed digit sides of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with said player selected payline;
(ii) determine any awards associated with said player selected payline based on:
(A) a quantity of the displayed digit sides of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with said player selected payline that display the player selected digits, and
(B) a comparison of the selection order with the display order; and
(iii) display any determined awards; and
(e) after a triggering event occurs, reposition a plurality of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with at least one of the digit display position grids relative to the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with at least one of the other digit display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed digit sides are not displayed and a plurality of the digit sides not initially displayed are displayed.
48. The gaming system of claim 47 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate with the at least one display device to, for each of a plurality of the generated multiple dimension digits, display at least one of the digit sides of said generated multiple dimension digit and not display at least one of the digit sides of said generated multiple dimension digit.
49. The gaming system of claim 47 , wherein, for each of the generated multiple dimension digits, at least one of the digit sides of said generated multiple dimension digit is not initially displayed.

The gaming system of claim 47 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the digit display position grids relative to the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the other digit display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed digit sides are not displayed and a plurality of the digit sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the digit display position grids.

The gaming system of claim 50 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to display said rotation while not displaying any rotation of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the other digit display position grids.

The gaming system of claim 47 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the digit display position grids relative to the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the other digit display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed digit sides are not displayed and a plurality of the digit sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with one of the digit display position grids.
53. The gaming system of claim 47 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the digit display position grids relative to the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the other digit display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed digit sides are not displayed and a plurality of the digit sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with a plurality of the digit display position grids.
54. The gaming system of claim 47 , wherein the digits include a designated digit, and wherein the triggering event occurs when the designated digit is displayed.
55. The gaming system of claim 54 , wherein the triggering event occurs when the designated digit is displayed on a digit side of a generated multiple dimension digit associated with one of the player selected paylines.
56. The gaming system of claim 54 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, when the designated digit is displayed on a digit side of a generated multiple dimension digit, reposition the generated multiple dimension digit such that at least one of the initially displayed digit sides of said multiple dimension digit is not displayed and at least one of the digit sides of said multiple dimension digit or another generated multiple dimension digit not initially displayed is displayed.
57. The gaming system of claim 47 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to repeat (d) at least once.
58. The gaming system of claim 47 , wherein the plurality of instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to repeat (d) to (e) at least once.
59. A method of operating a gaming system, the method comprising:
(a) causing at least one processor to execute a plurality of instructions stored in at least one memory device to operate with at least one input device to receive, from a player:
(i) a selection of one or more of a plurality of paylines, each of the paylines being associated with a different plurality of a plurality of digit display positions, wherein:
(A) each of the digit display positions is configured to display one of a plurality of different multiple dimension digits;
(B) each of the multiple dimension digits is associated with a plurality of digit sides, each of the digit sides displaying one of a plurality of different digits;
(C) each of the digit display positions is associated with one of a plurality of digit display position grids;
(D) each of the digit display position grids is associated with a different depth;
(E) the digit display positions of each of the digit display position grids form at least three columns and at least three rows including a first row, a second row positioned adjacent to the first row, and a third row positioned adjacent to the second row; and
(F) a plurality of the digit display positions of a first one of the digit display position grids associated with a first depth correspond to a plurality of the digit display positions of a second one of the digit display position grids associated with a second, different depth;
(ii) at least one wager associated with the player selected paylines; and
(iii) a selection of a designated quantity of the digits in a selection order;
(b) causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to randomly generate one of the multiple dimension digits at each of a plurality of the digit display positions of each of a plurality of the digit display position grids;
(c) causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to operate with at least one display device to display a plurality of the digit sides of each of a plurality of the generated multiple dimension digits, wherein:
(i) at least one of the digit sides of each of the plurality of the generated multiple dimension digits is initially displayed, and
(ii) at least one of the digit sides of each of the plurality of the generated multiple dimension digits is not initially displayed;
(d) causing the at least one processor to, for each of the player selected paylines, if each of at least a designated quantity of the displayed digit sides of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with said player selected payline displays any one of the player selected digits, the designated quantity being at least one:
(i) determine a display order of the digits displayed at the displayed digit sides of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with said player selected payline;
(ii) determine any awards associated with said player selected payline based on:
(A) a quantity of the displayed digit sides of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with said player selected payline that display the player selected digits, and
(B) a comparison of the selection order with the display order; and
(iii) operate with the at least one display device to display any determined awards; and
(e) after a triggering event occurs, causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with at least one of the digit display position grids relative to the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with at least one of the other digit display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed digit sides are not displayed, and a plurality of the digit sides not initially displayed are displayed.
60. The method of claim 59 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to operate with the at least one display device to, for each of a plurality of the generated multiple dimension digits, display at least one of the digit sides of said generated multiple dimension digit and not display at least one of the digit sides of said generated multiple dimension digit.
61. The method of claim 59 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to not initially display at least one of the digit sides of each of the generated multiple dimension digits.
62. The method of claim 59 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the digit display position grids relative to the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the other digit display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed digit sides are not displayed and a plurality of the digit sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the digit display position grids.
63. The method of claim 62 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to display said rotation while not displaying any rotation of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the other digit display position grids.
64. The method of claim 59 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the digit display position grids relative to the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the other digit display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed digit sides are not displayed and a plurality of the digit sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with one of the digit display position grids.
65. The method of claim 59 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to, after the triggering event occurs, operate with the at least one display device to reposition the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the digit display position grids relative to the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with the at least one of the other digit display position grids such that a plurality of the initially displayed digit sides are not displayed and a plurality of the digit sides not initially displayed are displayed by displaying a rotation of the multiple dimension digits generated at the digit display positions associated with a plurality of the digit display position grids.
66. The method of claim 59 , wherein the digits include a designated digit, and wherein the triggering event occurs when the designated digit is displayed.
67. The method of claim 66 , wherein the triggering event occurs when the designated digit is displayed on a digit side of a generated multiple dimension digit associated with one of the player selected paylines.
68. The method of claim 66 , which includes causing the at least one processor to execute the plurality of instructions to, when the designated digit is displayed on a digit side of a generated multiple dimension digit, reposition the generated multiple dimension digit such that at least one of the initially displayed digit sides of said multiple dimension digit is not displayed and at least one of the digit sides of said multiple dimension digit or another generated multiple dimension digit not initially displayed is displayed.
69. The method of claim 59 , which includes repeating (d) at least once.
