Cyclopentane heptan(ENE)OIC acid, 2-heteroarylalkenyl derivatives as therapeutic agents
Abstract
A compound comprising or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or a prodrug thereof, having the groups described in detail herein is disclosed. Also disclosed herein are compounds comprising or derivatives thereof, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, tetrazoles, or prodrugs of compounds of the structure or derivatives thereof, said derivatives being described in detail herein. Also disclosed herein are methods of treating diseases or conditions, including glaucoma and elevated intraocular pressure. Compositions and methods of manufacturing medicaments related thereto are also disclosed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A method for treating glaucoma or elevated intraocular pressure comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising one or more excipients and a compound, wherein the composition is an ophthalmically acceptable liquid, and wherein said compound has an α and an ω chain, and is represented by a formula:
or a derivative thereof, wherein said derivative has a structure as shown above except that 1 or 2 alterations are made to the α chain and/or the ω chain, and wherein an alteration consists of:
a. adding or removing 1 non-hydrogen atom selected from S, O, C or a halogen, or substituting 1 non-hydrogen atom selected from S, O, C or a halogen for 1 different non-hydrogen atom selected from S, O, C or a halogen, or
b. changing the bond order of 1 existing covalent bond without adding or deleting said bond;
wherein hydrogen atoms are added as removed as appropriate for the type of alteration;
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, or tetrazole thereof.
2. The method of claim 1 wherein said derivative has O or S substituted for a CH 2 unit.
3. The method of claim 1 wherein said derivative comprises C═O.
4. The method of claim 1 wherein said derivative has the same α chain as said structure.
5. The method of claim 1 wherein said derivative has the same ω chain as said structure.
6. The method of claim 1 wherein said derivative comprises a thienyl or a substituted thienyl moiety.
7. The method of claim 1 wherein said derivative has no Br.
8. The method of claim 1 wherein said derivative has no CH 3 .
9. The method of claim 1 wherein said derivative has 1 alteration.
10. A compound having an α chain and an ω chain that is represented by a formula:
or a derivative thereof having a structure as shown above except that 1 or 2 alterations are made to at least one of the α chain and the ω chain, and wherein an alteration consists of:
a. adding or removing 1 non-hydrogen atom selected from S, O, C or a halogen, or substituting 1 non-hydrogen atom selected from S, O, C or a halogen for 1 different non-hydrogen atom selected from S, O, C or a halogen, or
b. changing the bond order of 1 existing covalent bond without adding or deleting said bond;
wherein hydrogen atoms are added as removed as appropriate for the type of alteration;
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, or tetrazole thereof.
11. The compound of claim 10 wherein said derivative has O or S substituted for a CH 2 unit.
12. The compound of claim 10 wherein said derivative comprises C═O.
13. The compound of claim 10 wherein said derivative has the same α chain as said structure.
14. The compound of claim 10 wherein said derivative has the same ω chain as said structure.
15. The compound of claim 10 wherein said derivative comprises a thienyl or a substituted thienyl moiety.
16. The compound of claim 10 wherein said derivative has no Br.
17. The compound of claim 10 wherein said derivative has no CH 3 .
18. The compound of claim 10 wherein said derivative has 1 alteration.
19. An ophthalmic composition comprising a compound according to claim 10 in a liquid vehicle.
20. The composition of claim 19 , further comprising a preservative in an amount effective to reduce microbial contamination over multiple uses.Cited by (0)
