Abstract

This invention concerns a method for treatment or prevention of lower urinary tract symptoms with or without pelvic pain in an individual, said method comprising administering to the individual an effective amount of a selective estrogen receptor modulator, or an isomer, isomer mixture or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
The invention claimed is:

       1. A method for treatment of obstructive lower urinary tract symptoms in a male individual, said method comprising administering to the individual an effective amount of (Z)-2-{2-[4-(4-Chloro-1,2-diphenylbut-1-enyl)phenoxy]ethoxy}ethanol (fispemifene), or an isomer, isomer mixture or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein the obstructive lower urinary tract symptoms are caused by detrusor urethral sphincter dyssynergia.

       2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the detrusor urethral sphincter dyssynergia comprises bladder neck dyssynergia, external sphincter pseudodyssynergia, or Hinman syndrome.

       3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the obstructive lower urinary tract symptoms comprise hesitance, poor urinary stream, terminal dripping, or incomplete bladder emptying.

       4. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the obstructive lower urinary tract symptoms comprise hesitance, poor urinary stream, terminal dripping, or incomplete bladder emptying.

       5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the method comprises administering to the individual an effective amount of fispemifene.

       6. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the method comprises administering to the individual an effective amount of fispemifene.

       7. The method according to claim 3 , wherein the method comprises administering to the individual an effective amount of fispemifene.

       8. The method according to claim 4 , wherein the method comprises administering to the individual an effective amount of fispemifene.
