System and method for concept development with content aware text editor
Abstract
A computer program product residing on a computer readable medium having a plurality of instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations including providing a visual representation of a product concept comprising a textual component comprising at least one dynamic textual element and at least on static textual element and providing text editing functionality of the textual component such that a selection of any text forming a part of the at least one dynamic textual element automatically results in the selection of the entire at least one dynamic textual element wherein the text editing functionality comprises changing a format of at least a part of the at least one dynamic textual element.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A computer readable storage device or storage disk comprising instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to, at least:
provide a visual representation of a product concept including a textual component with a dynamic element;
retrieve a list of candidate variants corresponding to the dynamic element, the list including a first variant, a second variant, and a third variant
receive a first selection of the first variant;
in response to the first selection, display a constraint indicator adjacent the second variant, the constraint indicator visually representing an undesirability of displaying the first variant and the second variant simultaneously within the visual representation;
in response to the first selection, display an allowability indicator immediately adjacent the third variant, the allowability indicator visually representing a desirability of displaying the first variant and the third variant simultaneously within the visual representation; and
in response to a second selection of the second variant, generate a first instantiation of the visual representation including the first variant and the second variant, the first instantiation including the constraint indicator.
2. The computer readable storage device or storage disk of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to enable editing of at least one of the dynamic element, the first variant, or the second variant.
3. The computer readable storage device or storage disk of claim 1 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to enable text editing of at least one of the first variant or the second variant.
4. The computer readable storage device or storage disk of claim 3 , wherein the enabling of the text editing includes enabling changing a format of text within the at least one of the first variant or the second variant.
5. The computer readable storage device or storage disk of claim 4 , wherein the changing of the format includes changing at least one of a font size, a font typeface, or a font style of the text.
6. The computer readable storage device or storage disk of claim 5 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to propagate formatting changes within at least one of the product concept, the first variant, or the second variant.
7. A computer implemented method, comprising:
providing, by a processor, a visual representation of a product concept including a dynamic element;
retrieving, with the processor, a list of candidate variants including a first variant, a second variant, and a third variant;
in response to a first selection of the first variant, displaying, with the processor, a constraint indicator adjacent the second variant simultaneously, the constraint indicator visually representing an undesirability of displaying the first variant and the second variant simultaneously within the visual representation;
in response to the first selection, displaying, with the processor, an allowability indicator immediately adjacent the third variant, the allowability indicator visually representing a desirability of displaying the first variant and the third variant simultaneously within the visual representation;
in response to a second selection of the second variant, generating, with the processor, a first instantiation of the visual representation including the first variant and the second variant, the first instantiation including the constraint indicator.
8. The method of claim 7 , further including enabling editing of at least one of the first variant or the second variant.
9. The method of claim 7 , further including enabling text editing of at least one of the first variant or the second variant.
10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the enabling of the text editing includes enabling changing a format of text within the at least one of the first variant or the second variant.
11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the changing of the format includes changing at least one of a font size, a font typeface, or a font style of the text.
12. The method of claim 11 , further including propagating formatting changes within at least one of the product concept, the first variant, or the second variant.
13. A method implemented by a processor executing machine readable instructions, the method comprising:
in response to a first selection of a first variant in a list of variants, the list including the first variant, a second variant, and a third variant, displaying, with the processor, a constraint indicator adjacent the second variant, the constraint indicator visually representing an undesirability of displaying both of the first variant and the second variant within the visual representation;
in response to the first selection, displaying, with the processor, an allowability indicator adjacent the third variant, the allowability indicator visually representing a desirability of displaying both of the first variant and the third variant within the visual representation; and
in response to a second selection of the second variant, generating, with the processor, a first instantiation of the visual representation including the first variant and the third variant, the first instantiation including the allowability indicator.
14. The method of claim 13 , further including enabling text editing of at least one of the first variant or the second variant.
15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the enabling of the text editing includes enabling a format of text within the at least one of the first variant or the second variant.
16. A computer readable storage device or storage disk comprising instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to, at least:
in response to a first selection of a first variant in a list of variants, the list including the first variant, a second variant, and a third variant, display a constraint indicator adjacent the second variant, the constraint indicator visually representing an undesirability of displaying both of the first variant and the second variant within the visual representation;
in response to the first selection, display an allowability indicator adjacent the third variant, the allowability indicator visually representing a desirability of displaying both of the first variant and the third variant within the visual representation; and
in response to a second selection of the second variant, generate a first instantiation of the visual representation including both of the first variant and the third variant, the first instantiation including the allowability indicator.
17. The computer readable storage device or storage disk of claim 16 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the processor to enable text editing of at least one of the first variant or the second variant.
18. The computer readable storage device or storage disk of claim 17 , wherein the enabling of text editing includes enabling changing a format of text within the at least one of the first variant or the second variant.Cited by (0)
