Abstract
A display device includes contact holes opened in an insulating film outside of a display area in which pixels are arranged, and having a conductive film exposed in bottom portions, a first metal film formed to cover the contact holes and come in contact with the conductive film of the bottom portions, and a transparent conductive film formed on the first metal film.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A display device comprising:
a substrate having a display area in which a plurality of pixels are arranged, each of the plurality of pixels including a pixel circuit and a pixel electrode, each of the plurality of pixels including an organic layer on the pixel electrode, the organic layer including a light emitting material, the substrate having a frame area surrounding the display area;
an insulating film on the pixel circuit, the insulating film having a through-hole through which the pixel electrode is connected to the pixel circuit;
a metal layer entirely covering the display area and the plurality of pixels arranged therein, and the metal layer extending to the frame area; and
a transparent conductive layer entirely covering an upper surface of the metal layer,
wherein
the frame area includes a conductive film covered by the insulating film, the insulating film having contact holes, the contact holes exposing the conductive film at bottom portions of the contact holes, and
the metal layer contacts the conductive film through each of the contact holes, in the frame area.
2. The display device according to claim 1 ,
further comprising an organic insulating film on the insulating film,
wherein
the organic insulating film covers an edge of the pixel electrode and has an opening above each of the contact holes, and
the metal layer contacts the conductive film through the opening.
3. The display device according to claim 2 ,
wherein the organic insulating film doesn't extend to an edge of the substrate.
4. The display device according to claim 1 ,
wherein the display area and each of the contact holes are surrounded by a sealant.
5. The display device according to claim 4 ,
wherein the sealant covers an edge part of the transparent conductive layer and an edge part of the metal layer.
6. The display device according to claim 1 ,
wherein the contact holes are individually formed at a plurality of places in the frame area.
7. The display device according to claim 1 ,
further comprising a data signal driver circuit on the substrate,
wherein
the data signal driver circuit is located along a side of the display area, and
the conductive film extends along another side of the display area.
8. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein
the metal layer is configured to be light-permeable from the light emitting material in the display area.
9. A display device comprising:
a substrate having a display area and a frame area surrounding the display area,
the display area comprising:
a pixel electrode on the substrate;
an organic insulating layer covering an edge of the pixel electrode and exposing an upper surface of the pixel electrode;
an organic layer including a light emitting material and covering the upper surface of the pixel electrode;
a metal layer covering the organic insulating layer and the organic layer; and
a transparent conductive layer covering the metal layer and overlapping the organic insulating layer and the organic layer,
wherein
the frame area comprises a conductive film covered by the organic insulating layer,
the organic insulating layer has openings exposing a surface of the conductive film,
the metal layer and the transparent conductive layer extend from the display area to the frame area, and cover the openings, and
the metal layer is connected to the conductive film at the openings.
10. The display device according to claim 9 ,
wherein the organic insulating layer doesn't extend to an edge of the substrate.
11. The display device according to claim 9 , wherein
the display area and each of the openings are surrounded by a sealant.
12. The display device according to claim 11 ,
wherein the sealant covers an edge part of the transparent conductive layer and an edge part of the metal layer.
13. The display device according to claim 9 ,
wherein the openings are individually formed at a plurality of places in the frame area.
14. The display device according to claim 9 ,
wherein the metal layer is configured to be light-permeable from the light emitting material at the display area.Cited by (0)
