Abstract

A user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system is described. The UE includes a long term evolution (LTE) transceiver for receiving configuration information from a network, and a processor for detecting an in-device coexistence (IDC) condition according to the configuration information and initiating a transmission of information on the detected IDC condition to the network. The information on the detected IDC condition comprises frequency information, and the transmission is initiated after the UE has failed to resolve the detected IDC condition on its own.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. A user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system, the UE comprising:
a long term evolution (LTE) transceiver configured to receive configuration information from a network; and
 a processor configured to:
detect an in-device coexistence (IDC) condition according to the configuration information, and
control the LTE transceiver to initiate a transmission of information on the detected IDC condition to the network,

wherein the information on the detected IDC condition comprises frequency information, and
wherein the transmission of the information on the detected IDC condition is initiated after the UE has failed to resolve the detected IDC condition on its own.

       2. The UE of claim 1 , wherein the detected IDC condition is a detected IDC problem.

       3. The UE of claim 2 , wherein the detected IDC problem is a detected IDC frequency interference between the LTE transceiver and at least one other device within the UE.

       4. The UE of claim 3 , wherein the at least one other device within the UE comprises at least one of a WiFi transceiver and a Bluetooth transceiver.

       5. The UE of claim 3 , wherein the IDC problem is detected while the LTE transceiver is in a radio resource control (RRC) connected state.

       6. The UE of claim 2 , wherein the information on the detected IDC condition comprises the frequency information and other information related to the detected IDC problem.

       7. The UE of claim 1 , wherein the detecting the IDC condition comprises detecting a change in the IDC condition.

       8. The UE of claim 1 , wherein the configuration information comprises one of IDC monitoring information and IDC reporting information.

       9. The UE of claim 1 , wherein the frequency information includes frequency information about a corresponding measurement object.

       10. A base station in a mobile communication system, the base station comprising:
a transmitting module configured to transmit configuration information to a user equipment (UE); and
a receiving module configured to receive, from the UE, information on an in-device coexistence (IDC) condition detected by the UE according to the configuration information,
wherein the information on the IDC condition comprises frequency information, and
wherein the information on the IDC condition is received from the UE after the UE has failed to resolve the detected IDC condition on its own.

       11. The base station of claim 10 , wherein the detected IDC condition is a detected IDC problem.

       12. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the detected IDC problem is a detected IDC frequency interference between a long term evolution (LTE) transceiver of the UE and at least one other device within the UE.

       13. The base station of claim 12 , wherein the at least one other device within the UE comprises at least one of a WiFi transceiver and a Bluetooth transceiver.

       14. The base station of claim 12 , where the IDC problem is detected while the LTE transceiver of the UE is in a radio resource control (RRC) connected state.

       15. The base station of claim 11 , wherein the information on the detected IDC condition comprises the frequency information and other information related to the detected IDC problem.

       16. The base station of claim 10 , wherein the detected IDC condition comprises a detected change in the IDC condition.

       17. The base station of claim 10 , wherein the configuration information comprises one of IDC monitoring information and IDC reporting information.

       18. The base station of claim 10 , wherein the frequency information includes frequency information about a corresponding measurement object.
