Abstract

An infusion pump system. The system includes a reusable housing assembly, a disposable housing assembly, a tab portion comprising a female latching feature, and an exit, the exit connected to a reservoir; and a fluid connector including a body portion including a slot, a plug portion slidably connected to the body portion, the plug portion including a fluid path and a disc, the disc configured to seat within the slot, a catch feature located on a first end of the body portion and configured to interact with the disposable housing assembly, a male latching feature located on a second end of the body portion, the male latching feature configured to interact and lock onto the female latching feature, wherein force applied to the plug portion may overcome a threshold force and unseat the disc from the slot wherein the plug portion moves with respect to the body portion.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. An infusion pump system comprising:
 a reusable housing assembly comprising:
 a pump actuator assembly; and
 a locking ring assembly;

 a disposable housing assembly comprising:
 a reservoir;
 a tab portion, the tab portion comprising a female latching feature; and
 an exit, the exit fluidly connected to the reservoir; and

 a fluid connector comprising:
 a body portion comprising a slot;
 a plug portion slidably connected to the body portion, the plug portion comprising a fluid path and a disc, the disc configured to seat within the slot;
 a catch feature located on a first end of the body portion and configured to interact with the disposable housing assembly;
 a male latching feature located on a second end of the body portion, the male latching feature configured to interact and lock onto the female latching feature; and
 a tubing, a first end of the tubing fluidly connected to the plug fluid path;

 wherein the locking ring assembly further comprising a nub comprising a spring actuated tab, the spring actuated tab interacts with an indent of the connector when the reusable housing assembly and disposable housing assembly are rotatably attached;
 wherein force applied to the plug portion overcomes a threshold force and unseats the disc from the slot wherein the plug portion moves with respect to the body portion,
 wherein the plug of the connector forms a luer connection with the exit of the disposable housing assembly and provides a fluid connection between the reservoir and the tubing,
 wherein the reusable housing assembly configured to be attached to the disposable housing assembly, and
 wherein the pump actuator assembly pumps fluid from the reservoir to the tubing.

       2. The infusion pump system of claim 1 , wherein the reusable housing assembly further comprising a volume sensor assembly.

       3. The infusion pump system of claim 1 , wherein the second end of the tubing is connected to a cannula assembly.

       4. The infusion pump system of claim 1 , wherein the indent is located on the body portion, wherein the indent configured to interact with a reusable portion of an infusion pump.

       5. The infusion pump system of claim 1 , wherein the spring actuated tab of the nub interacts with the connector exerting compression onto the connector attachment to the exit of the disposable housing assembly.

       6. The infusion pump system of claim 1 , wherein the body portion further comprising rib features.

       7. The infusion pump system of claim 1 , wherein the catch feature comprising a ramp.

       8. The infusion pump system of claim 1 , wherein the underside of the body portion comprising a core.

       9. The infusion pump system of claim 8 , wherein the core comprising an identification tag.

       10. The infusion pump system of claim 1 , wherein the body portion comprising an identification tag.

       11. The infusion pump system of claim 10 , wherein the identification tag is an RFID tag.

       12. The infusion pump system of claim 10 , wherein the identification tag is a near-field communication readable RFID.
