Abstract

A method for making books, papers and film more resistant to moisture and pollution degradation using a low pressure, low temperature gas plasma.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. A method for treating a paper product to prevent said paper product from cracking, yellowing, or becoming brittle, comprising: exciting a gas at a predetermined pressure and a predetermined temperature to form a gas plasma; and briefly exposing said paper product to said gas plasma.

       2. A method for treating a paper product to make said paper product more resistant to acid degradation, comprising: exciting a gas at a predetermined pressure and a predetermined temperature to form a gas plasma; and briefly exposing said paper product to said gas plasma.

       3. A method for treating a film product to make said film product more resistant to acid degradation, comprising: exciting a gas at a predetermined pressure and a predetermined temperature to form a gas plasma; and briefly exposing said film product to said gas plasma.
