Abstract

A cracking catalyst composition comprising a zeolitic, crystalline aluminosilicate, a matrix material and a barium titanium oxide. The catalyst composition is particularly suitable for cracking metal-containing hydrocarbon feedstocks.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A process for cracking a metal-containing hydrocarbon feedstock comprising contacting said metal-containing hydrocarbon feedstock with a cracking catalyst comprising a zeolitic, crystalline aluminosilicate, a matrix material and a barium titanium oxide. 
     
     
       2. A process according to claim 1, wherein said catalyst comprises: a. catalytically active particles comprising said zeolitic, crystalline aluminosilicate embedded in said matrix material, and   b. catalytically less active particles comprising said barium titanium oxide embedded in said matrix material,   and wherein said metal-containing feedstock is first brought into contact with said catalytically less active particles and is subsequently brought into contact with said catalytically active particles.   
     
     
       3. A process according to claim 1, wherein said barium titanium oxide is barium titanate. 
     
     
       4. A process according to claim 2, wherein said barium titanium oxide is barium titanate. .Iadd. 
     
     
       5.  A process according to claim 1, wherein said feedstock contains more than one ppm of metal. .Iaddend. .Iadd.6. A method of cracking vanadium containing hydrocarbon feedstocks wherein the feedstock is contacted with a catalyst composition comprising: (i) a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite,   (ii) a matrix material, and   (iii) a barium titanium oxide. .Iaddend. .Iadd.7. A method according to claim 6, wherein the barium titanium oxide is selected from the group consisting of BaTiO 3 , BaTi 3  O 7 , BaTi 4  O 9 , Ba 2  TiO 4 , Ba 2  Ti 5  O 12 , Ba 2  Ti 9  O 20 , Ba 4  Ti 13  O 30  and Ba 6  Ti 17  O 40 . .Iaddend.
