Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
We claim:

       1. A method for lengthening and curving the eyelashes which comprises applying to the eyelashes an amount of an eyelash make up composition effective to lengthen and curve the eyelashes, which composition comprises deoxyribonucleic acid or an inorganic or organic salt thereof, and at least one wax, wherein the quantity of dry deoxyribonucleic acid ranges from 0.05% to 5% by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.

       2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the ratio by weight of the quantity of deoxyribonucleic acid to the quantity of wax in said make up composition ranges from 0 . 025 to 2 . 5

       3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the molecular weight of said deoxyribonucleic acid ranges from 1 × 10 5 to 1 × 10 7 daltons.

       4. The method according to claim 3 , wherein the molecular weight of said deoxyribonucleic acid ranges from 5 × 10 5 to 5 × 10 6 daltons.

       5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the quantity of dry deoxyribonucleic acid in said make up composition ranges from 0 . 05 % to 2 % by weight relative to the total weight of the composition.

       6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said at least one wax is chosen from animal waxes, mineral waxes, vegetable waxes, and synthetic waxes.

       7. The method according to claim 6 , wherein said at least one wax is solid and firm at temperatures of less than 50 ° C.

       8. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said make up composition further comprises at least one pigment chosen from inorganic pigments, organic pigments, and nacreous pigments.

       9. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said make up composition is in the form of an oil- in - water emulsion, a water - in - oil emulsion, a suspension in a solvent medium, a microdispersion or a solid or an anhydrous paste.

       10. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said make up composition further comprises at least one cosmetically acceptable adjuvant.

       11. The method according to claim 10 , wherein said at least one cosmetically acceptable adjuvant is chosen from vitamins, trace elements, emollients, preservatives, sequestering agents, fragrances, thickeners, oils, cohesion agents, polymers, basifying agents, acidifying agents, and fillers.

       12. The method according to claim 1 , wherein said make up composition further comprises silicone.
