Methods for inhibiting bone loss using 6-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-benzo[b]thien-3-yl-4-[2-(piperidin-1-yl) ethoxyphenylimethanone hydrochloride

Abstract

The current invention provides a method useful for inhibiting the loss of bone using 6-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-benzo(B)-thien-3-yl-4[2-piperidin-1-ethoxyphenol]methanone hydrochloride.

1. A method of inhibiting post- menopausal  bone loss in a post- menopausal woman in need of treatment to prevent or treat post - menopausal osteoporosis  comprising administering to a human said woman in need thereof of said treatment an effective amount of 6-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-benzo[B]thien-3-yl-4-[2-(piperidin-1-yl)ethoxyphenyl]methanone hydrochloride. 
     
     
       2. The method of  claim 1  wherein said human is female. 
     
     
       3. The method of claim  2   1  wherein said human woman has post- menopausal  osteoporosis. 
     
     
       4. A method of inhibiting post- menopausal bone loss in a post - menopausal woman in need of treatment to prevent post - menopausal osteoporosis comprising administering to said woman in need of said treatment an effective amount of  6   - hydroxy -   2   -(   4   - hydroxyphenyl )- benzo[b]thien -   3   - yl -   4   - [ 2   -( piperidin -   1   - yl ) ethoxyphenyl]methanone hydrochloride.
