Abstract
A method for producing a glass wool molded product includes the steps of processing a glass material into fibers so as to obtain a glass wool, gathering such glass wools to form a glass wool mat, and subjecting the glass wool mat to press molding, wherein the above described press molding is carried out, while supplying water so that the water content of the above described glass wool mat becomes 0.1% to 7.0% by mass, and while maintaining a temperature between 250° C. and 450° C.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThe invention claimed is:
1. A method for producing a glass wool molded product comprising the steps of:
processing a glass material into fibers so as to obtain a glass wool,
gathering said glass wool to form a glass wool mat,
supplying a liquid consisting of water to the glass wool mat immediately after processing the glass material into fibers so that the water content of the glass wool mat becomes 0.1% to 7.0% by mass, and
subjecting the glass wool mat having said water content to press molding while maintaining a temperature between 250° C. and 450° C, whereby the glass wool fibers in the press molded glass wool mat are bound to each other with sodium silicate generated from the glass wool and the water.
2. The production method according to claim 1 , wherein by said liquid supplying water step the water content of the glass wool mat becomes 0.3% to 3.0% by mass, and in said press molding step the temperature is maintained between 250° C. and 450° C.
3. The production method according to claim 1 , wherein said glass material fibers have a diameter of 2-8 μm.
4. The production method according to claim 1 , wherein said glass wool molded product has a density of between approximately 150-300 kg/m 3 .
5. A method for producing a glass wool molded product comprising the steps of:
processing a glass material into fibers so as to obtain a glass wool, supplying a liquid consisting of water to the glass wool immediately after processing the glass material into fibers, gathering said glass wool to form a glass wool mat, supplying more of the liquid consisting of water to the glass mat so that the water content of the glass wool mat becomes 0.1% to 7.0% by mass, and subjecting the glass wool mat having said water content to press molding while maintaining a temperature between 250° C. and 450° C., whereby the glass wool fibers in the press molded glass wool mat are bound to each other with sodium silicate generated from the glass wool and the water.
6. A method for producing a vacuum heat insulation material, comprising the steps of:
processing a glass material into fibers so as to obtain a glass wool, supplying a liquid consisting of water to the glass wool immediately after processing the glass material into fibers, gathering said glass wool to form a glass wool mat, subjecting the glass wool mat having said water content to press molding while maintaining a temperature between 250° C. and 450° C., whereby the glass wool fibers in the press molded glass wool mat are bound to each other with sodium silicate generated from the glass wool and the water, coating the press molded glass wool mat with a jacketing material, and processing the jacketing material coating the press molded glass wool mat so that the jacketing material forms a low-pressure hermetically sealed space filled with the press molded glass wool mat as a core, wherein an amount of the liquid consisting of water supplied to the glass wool in the liquid supplying step results in a water content of the glass wool mat becoming 0.1% to 7.0% by mass prior to the press molding step.Cited by (0)
