Abstract

A portable terminal includes a receiver, a barcode former configured to form barcodes and a display. The barcode former forms a barcode from the data received by the receiver and the display displays the formed barcode.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. A portable terminal, comprising:
a receiver configured to receive data; a barcode former configured to form barcode data from the received data, the barcode data including a plurality of display barcodes, information representing the display order of the plurality of display barcodes, information representing a total number of the plurality of display barcodes and information representing an end of the display of the plurality of display barcodes, each of the display barcodes is displayed with predetermined non-display periods between display periods of the display barcodes; a display configured to display, in order, the display barcodes included in the barcode data; and a detector configured to detect light or a signal from a barcode reader, wherein the display is switched, from the currently displayed display barcode to the display barcode next in the display order, according to the detection result of the detector.

       2. The portable terminal according to claim 1 , wherein the light or the signal includes information from which the detector can determine that the barcode reader has completed reading of the displayed barcode.

       3. A method of operating of a portable terminal, the portable terminal having a memory, the method comprising:
acquiring from a service provider via a communication network, ticket information, a start time, and place information related to a facility, the ticket information permitting a user of the portable terminal to utilize the facility, the start time related to a time from when the facility is scheduled to start operating, the facility comprising a transportation vehicle; storing, in the memory of the portable terminal, the ticket information, the start time and the place information; and controlling the portable terminal to issue a notification to the portable terminal a predetermined time before the start time using the stored start time, without using a location of the transportation vehicle, wherein the ticket information comprises transportation information, the start time comprises a time related to a departure time of the transportation vehicle, and the place information related to the facility comprises a ticket gate corresponding to the transportation vehicle within a transport station.

       4. The method of operating a portable terminal according to claim 3, wherein
the transportation information comprises an airplane ticket, the transportation vehicle comprises an airplane, the start time comprises a departure time of the airplane, and the place information related to the facility comprises a corresponding boarding gate within an airport.

       5. The method of operating a portable terminal according to claim 3, further comprising:
controlling the portable terminal to issue the notification, by a speaker which is part of the portable terminal, at the predetermined time.

       6. The method of operating a portable terminal according to claim 3, further comprising:
controlling the portable terminal to issue the notification, by a vibrator which is part of the portable terminal, at the predetermined time.

       7. The method of operating a portable terminal according to claim 3, wherein
the transportation information includes the start time.

       8. The method of operating a portable terminal according to claim 3, further comprising controlling a display to display the transportation information on the display, the transportation information being displayed at the display as a scannable ticket.

       9. The method of operating a portable terminal according to claim 8, wherein
the scannable ticket displayed at the display is generated based on the transportation information.

       10. A method of operating of a portable terminal, the portable terminal having a memory, the method comprising:
acquiring, from a service provider via a communication network, ticket information, a start time, and place information related to a facility, the ticket information permitting a user of the portable terminal to utilize the facility, the start time related to a time from when an event at the facility is scheduled to start, the facility comprising an amusement venue; storing, in the memory of the portable terminal, the ticket information, the start time and the place information; and controlling the portable terminal to issue a notification to the portable terminal a predetermined time before the start time using the stored start time, without using a location of the amusement venue, wherein the ticket information comprises information for an amusement event at the amusement, and the start time comprises a time related to a start time of the amusement event.

       11. The method of operating a portable terminal according to claim 10, further comprising controlling a display to display the information for the amusement event on the display, the information for the amusement event being displayed at the display as a scannable ticket.
