Abstract

A mammalian cytokine-like polypeptide, called Mammalian Cytokine-like polypeptide-10, (Zcyto10), polynucleotides encoding the same, antibodies which specifically bind to the polypeptide, and anti-idiotypic antibodies which bind to the antibodies. Zcyto10 is useful for promoting the healing of wounds and for stimulating the proliferation of platelets.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1. An expression vector comprising the following operably linked elements:
 (a) a transcription promoter;
 (b) a DNA segment encoding a polypeptide comprising amino acid residues 25 to 176 of SEQ ID NO:2; and
 (c) a transcription terminator.

       2. The expression vector according to claim 1 , further comprising a secretory signal sequence operably linked to the DNA segment.

       3. The expression vector according to claim 1 , wherein the polypeptide comprises an affinity tag or an immunoglogulin constant region.

       4. An expression vector comprising the following operably linked elements:
 (a) a transcription promoter;
 (b) a DNA segment encoding a polypeptide comprising SEQ ID NO:2; and
 (c) a transcription terminator.

       5. The expression vector according to claim 4 , further comprising a secretory signal sequence operably linked to the DNA segment.

       6. The expression vector according to claim 4 , wherein the polypeptide comprises an affinity tag or an iinmunoglogulin constant region.

       7. A cultured cell into which has been introduced the expression vector according to claim 1 , wherein said cell expresses the polypeptide encoded by the DNA segment.

       8. A method of producing a polypeptide comprising: culturing a cell into which has been introduced the expression vector according to claim 7 , whereby the cell expresses the polypeptide encoded by the DNA segment; and isolating the polypeptide produced by the cell.

       9. A cultured cell into which has been introduced the expression vector according to claim 4 , wherein said cell expresses the polypeptide encoded by the DNA segment.

       10. A method of producing a polypeptide comprising: culturing a cell into which has been introduced the expression vector according to claim 9 , whereby the cell expresses the polypeptide encoded by the DNA segment; and isolating the polypeptide produced by the cell.

       11. An expression vector comprising the following operably linked elements:
 (a) a transcription promoter;
 (b) a DNA segment encoding a polypeptide comprising SEQ ID NO:26; and
 (c) a transcription terminator.

       12. The expression vector according to claim 11 , further comprising a secretory signal sequence operably linked to the DNA segment.

       13. The expression vector according to claim 11 , wherein the polypeptide comprises an affinity tag or an immunoglogulin constant region.

       14. A cultured cell into which has been introduced the expression vector according to claim 11 , wherein said cell expresses the polypeptide encoded by the DNA segment.

       15. A method of producing a polypeptide comprising: culturing a cell into which has been introduced the expression vector according to claim 14 , whereby the cell expresses the polypeptide encoded by the DNA segment; and isolating the polypeptide produced by the cell.
